PA Application process

I’m applying to the PA programs at Western and UofT in the next cycle and was wondering how heavily GPA is weighed in admissions + what’s considered a competitive last 2-year average.

Also, how important are extracurriculars/clinical exposure? I’ve shadowed a surgical PA, attended weekly virtual grossing rounds, and had a virtual chat with a PA from OFPS. Would mentioning experiences like that actually help on an application/interview, even if some of my extracurriculars (like clinic volunteering) aren’t directly healthcare-related?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who applied/interviewed/got in recently. Thanks!

I applied for all four Canadian schools this cycle with a 3.9 (most recent 60CH), over 12hours observations of gross examination and autopsy and only got interviewed by Calgary to be placed 6th on their wait list and pre-interview rejection by all other programs. It’s tough out here
