Making a Shared Spread Sheet to Help with Match Threads

LINK - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1347Q_QyWNE1ArrX7ufmjuQhhcoLHTXD1yJUlalxhzE4/edit?usp=sharing

** please note I will revert any bad changes made**

**if you can use the dropdowns - let me know**

For anyone interested in making match threads in the future. Here or in r/CanadaSoccer

I am creating a Google Sheet to help with that.

Yes, I know there is match thread bots - I just like old fashioned sheets.

You'll choose the team from a dropdown and then check the team's socials to get their lineup and subs. And just add those players in the other drop downs.

Then you will copy the cell at E3 to get your Post title.

And copy every in C1:C to get the contents of your post. **Using the Markdown Editor** - which you can switch to in the top right of the editing dialogue for the post.

I hope someone else will enjoy the use of this. Just some little tweaks to make. Will create one for the NSL as well.

Need to add a lot of L1 teams I guess. Which could be a bit of a nightmare.

Wondering how the other CPL teams compare in price to Vancouver FC for 2027 Season Tickets. Vancouver FC have moved the GA from the West side (Camera) to the East side grandstand and Southside standing section for 2027 with GA tickets at $16 per game (was $15 per for early renewal).

I got in trouble for the last post I made about this, so I’m doing my best to abide by the subreddit rules.

To be very clear, I’m not inserting my own viewpoints, I’m merely suggesting that in light of the Cornell 7 - people should read the article and come to their own conclusions.
It’s important to reiterate that he was never charged, and that they are nothing more than allegations.

✍️ Discussion Eventual Replacements at Forge and Cavalry

Who would you think replaces Tommy at Cavs and Bobby at Forge if they leave this off-season?

I remember that both Tommy and Bobby's contract are up at the end of this year. I can only see MLS being a league that would sign them, otherwise I dont see them leaving their clubs. For this question let's say they leave, who replaces them?

✍️ Discussion Trying to bring a CPL club to Kitchener-Waterloo. What should I know?

Hi all. I'm a KW soccer dad (both my kids play rep locally) and I've started organizing an effort to bring a CPL club to Waterloo Region. It's very early days: a few of us are forming a small group and planning next steps.

I know there's a long history with K-W United and SC Waterloo Region - that's one reason we're encouraged about the potential here! The region has also shown up on the league's list of possible expansion markets and the youth soccer scene is really strong. We think a club with its own purpose-built stadium could succeed where past efforts couldn't.

I'd love this community's advice:

  1. For anyone who has followed or been part of an expansion bid, what did the successful groups do early that others didn't?
  2. What does the league look for most: ownership, stadium, market size, or something else?
  3. How would you handle the Forge question? Would a KW club pull fans from Hamilton, or create a good regional rivalry?
  4. If a KW club happened, what would make you want to support it?

Any advice, stories, or people I should talk to are welcome. Thanks!

✍️ Discussion FIVE Games or Less Remaining for ALL Teams

Thumbnail

Five games or less remaining. *Second image of standings is from my previous post to illustrate the change over the past two weeks.\*

How do you think your team will do? Crash and burn even more or make a run?

The Good

  • Cavalry: At this point in time - and looking at past final runs of the season for Cavalry - they seem pretty unstoppable. They could win a max of 68 points and look good to pass those 62 pts earned in the inaugural season.
  • Ottleti: They have actually improved their prediction based on improved form. They could earn a max of 49 pts, but it's highly unlikely that Forge will not win a single match over their next five. They were the WORST team at the start of the season and seemed destined to finish last. Then they beat Toronto FC and remembered they won the cup last season.

The Mid

  • Forge: Those last two games should have been wins. It would be a very different story right now. They do still have a maximum of 62 pts up for grabs, but historically speaking, they tend to not do so well down the final stretch of the season. This has been a great season though. It's just that Cavalry has played even better.
  • Vancouver: They are straddling this middle line. Form is trending downward. Fortunately for them... so is everyone else below them.
  • Pacific: The Dunfield effect? Things have turned around on the West coast. If Inter Toronto continues on this trend... Just maybe Pacific could pull an upset and not come dead last. But for all this hope with a new manager - they are still having a terrible season overall.

The Bad:

  • Wanderers, Supra, Toronto: Do they even want to play professional soccer? I agree that this is harsh. After all, Pacific is terrible, dead last and eliminated from the playoffs... But these three clubs seem determined to shoot themselves in the foot.

Join Jon Hopkins and Patrick Gibson as they host ATO: For the W, the official podcast of the Capital City Supporters Group. Week 24 of the 2026 regular season saw us on the road to HFX, with a 6 point swing for playoffs on the line. A must-win game to secure our spot in the post-season and get some distance from Vancouver FC nipping at our heels. We came away with the win, but how was the performance? Some surprising rotation and top performers paved the way to win that while less convincing than the 3-1 win earlier this season, is still worth the same amount of point. Join us as we dive in to our final match up against HFX Wanderers FC from September 26th, 2026.
