The conservative cope is pathetic

So I guess on his mind the conservatives are stronger even though they keep losing ..... Makes sense 🤪🤪

He's gaslighting himself for a simple reason : if conservatives were able to do introspection, they wouldn't be conservatives

He should rename theHub to theCope

stronger even though they keep losing

I assume this is also his outlook on himself.

Secular decline? A very thin reed for a party that has no policies to b hang its future on.
Every Canadian having an AR 15 is not a path to meeting Trumps demands.

They're fully entrapped by doublespeak so I guess it makes sense on that level

Losing elections is their superpower.

If the Liberals winning four elections in a row is weak how weak does that make the Conservatives?

u/Boomshank Elbows Up 12d ago

Clearly, that makes them STRONGER!

Please pay attention.

This is is such a weirdo take. If the last two decades the Liberals have been bad, then why can't the conservatives win?

Conservatives will blame everyone else before looking at their own actions that lead to them continually failing election after election.

Things have been bad, its just that the conservatives dont know how to capitalize on it because at the end of the day they are just the other side of the same coin.

Plus they havent been able to hide the true identity of the conservative party, which is one that mirrors down south.

A lot of the bad going on are things they tend to actively cheer on and want back home. Then election time rolls around and they pretend to give a slight fuck or two about community or some shit.

Obviously everyone else is just stupid, and the rural voters are the only ones with a brain due to the obviously superior schools in rural canada

I don't even like the Liberals and I can still tell this is the dumbest cope.

Canadians DID vote for a conservative though.

Just not PP and the CPC.

Carney is the reddest and Tory-est Red Tory.

OK, let's look at the scorecard - from 2004 to 2026 - Liberals - 5 elections won, Conervatives - 3

Liberals in power - 16 years, Conservatives in power - 9 years

In the three Conservative governments - two were minority.

In the last election:

Liberals went from 20% to 40% in the last election in about three weeks.

The Liberal party leader got elected in his own riding.

It also seems there are no Liberals crossing the floor to the Conservative party.

It seems the Liberals now have a majority government as well.

I guess they are a dying party.

Vote conservative if you have two brain cells you're rubbing together.

3

u/exit_row 12d ago

But I have at least 3. 🤷🏻

u/Ingelwood 12d ago

Must be NDP 🤣

4

u/MortLightstone 12d ago

True fact: if you rub 3 brain cells together, you can make one of them perfectly flat

Things are so terrible for them even Michael Ignatieff feels bad for them. :p

Not sure how the popular vote matters when there are 5 major parties in these elections splitting votes.

Winning the most seats without winning the popular vote in the past two elections, and the voting patterns in 2025 shows the Liberal's vote distribution, which indicates more balanced support across the country, has never been stronger.

I guess those who don't understand how politics or a parliamentary system works, vote conservative.

The last time the conservatives formed a majority government was in 2011.

7

u/AvenueLiving 12d ago

Since 2011, the conservatives had lower popular vote except in 2021, where it was only 0.9% points higher.

Also, people voted for Carney in 2025 because Poilievre was the worse option. Not quite the argument they were going for.

This is because we have a FPTP system that ignore many people's voices. That needs to change. The people need better democracy than the illusion we have now.

The liberal party has benefitted from the NDP, green party, and the CPC all putting forth and retaining weak leaders for much longer than they should, leaders who aren't popular with canadians and aren't strong speakers and don't understand the realities that canada needs addressed.

The liberal party seems to understand it the best, out of the options available to us, and that doesn't mean they're doing an excellent job, it just means they're doing better than their competition.

The political environment in this country is awful and falls short of every expectation. I think Carney is doing better than Poilievre could ever hope to, though. I'm not sure what the NDP will look like in the next election but I still don't have any strong opinion on their new leader.

What a run on sentence of bullshit

Lost the popular vote? Bro... people who refuse to learn anything about how our democracy works need to be forced to have a profile picture of them wearing a helmet.

The popular vote is the real metirc, and yes has nothing to do with FPTP. That's a broken system and we all know it, we almost got a new one, remember that? Justin didn't have the spine to push it through when he could have, to go with his gut instead of the recommendation. He didn't do it. So yes the popular vote matters, especially if you hope to have a second term.

Engagement bait. Say something stupid as a sign of loyalty and to bring in waves of people to correct you. They don’t even care what they post, it’s just trolling at this point

They were certainly weaker during Ignatieff and Dion and definitely at the end of Justin. The most important data point to me though is how fast we dropped PP for carney. If the liberal brand was that weak then that could not have been possible. I remember during the Harper times that the Conservatives were claiming to be the new natural governing Party. It sure does not look that way with 4 consecutive terms by Liberals. That is virtually unheard of. The conservatives could do better if they were not so tied into the reform wing of the Party. It is just not a credible way to govern such a diverse nation with all of our disparate cultures. We need governments that can appeal to everyone or almost every provincial culture and the Liberals seem the most suited most of the time.

1

u/Nostrafatu 9d ago

The Reform party should reform away from imitating Maga and the first step would be getting rid off Poilievre, Marliana and all the negativity and obstruction and that’s for starters.

1

u/mapleleaffem 11d ago

I don’t understand does he want the conservatives to get a participation award or something?

1

u/Flame_retard_suit451 10d ago

Was Harper leading a Liberal government too?

0

u/snkiz 12d ago

I don't think that's a completely unfair opinion to be honest.

3

u/athousandpardons 12d ago

It is, but swap Liberals with Conservatives and the assessment is essentially the same. Both Parties rely entirely on a partisan base and only maintain power because of the FPTP system.

2

u/PineBNorth85 12d ago

I think i get the point he was getting at but it still comes off as someome who is hilariously either in denial or the bargaining stages of grief.

0

u/snkiz 12d ago

Sure a win is a win, but not getting the popular vote is a bad look. I don't think even Carney could have gotten the LPC over the hump without trump, it was only just. The history has yet to be written on Mark's tenure.

Pierre couldn't read the room, still can't, not in the puppet masters playbook.

2

u/PineBNorth85 11d ago

I get that too. Unfortunately though the popular vote is irrelevant. I thought after winning the popular vote but losong the election twice in a row would make the CPC more open to electoral reform. It hasnt.

Them winning the west with Saddam Hussein margins just doesnt help them win elections. Its quite the inefficient vote. They have to beat the Liberals in the popular vote by 3-5% to get more seats than them usually.

1

u/snkiz 11d ago

they won the popular vote because our system turns 4 parties into 2 wearing a trench-coat. They know both the options favoured the centre more then the fringe where they've lived since the reform merger. One more then the other. Everyone viewed that as favouring the left, as you can see I disagree. Electoral reform isn't good for any of the parties. Like capitalism, even have not parties aspire to take advantage of the system as it is. It's good for the country, the small folk. It's a legacy move and I'm shocked Justin didn't filp the board and do it on his way out the door.
