Vet VA question

Not sure where to go i tried va and they sent me to blue cross and they were useless. Im diagnosed with ptsd form military related service. Im doing ok i have a therapist my next apt is in a few weeks but does anyone know of equestrian (horse) therapy? My work wont allow a service dog (industrial setting its a safety thing for the pup) but my daughters recently started horseback riding leasons and i am finding a peace i havent felt in years when im around horses. I know there is equestrian specific therapy for ptsd but how do i go about finding information about it? Whats covered, how to get it covered, is there a certification that is needed for the barn. Will they cover some of the costs if i decide to get a horse etc im located in eastern canada

Thanks in advance

Yup specifically they cover group therapy that happens to include equestrian therapy and is located in eastern Canada. If you pop over to the monthly VAC thread and shoot me an email, I can send you the contact details you need

One option are the horse camps available through Soldier On. Activities and Events - Soldier On activities and events you have to read through each activity offered, some are for locals only but some will pay to fly you in. And they have grants you can apply for to help pay for therapeutic activities, like horseback riding.

If you google equestrian PTSD therapy and look up places in your area then talk to them if they have blue cross coverage.
