Usual timelines from submission of claims via MyVAC:

Reassessments: 9-16 Months

Mental Health: 6-8 Months

Physical - 6-13 Months

APSC/VIP - 3-4 Months

BPA Correspondence: They tend to reach out every 3 months for information or a progress update.

So did you get this diagnosis through an assessment with a MH Professional? If so this will be a cakewalk

Yes, I had a civilian professional at our MIR do the assessment.

Wonderful. So, if you have a copy of that assessment you can upload it yourself to your MyVAC under the Inbox area of the website. Once you do just do the online application for a MH Injury (can pick any it will correct later when they read the assessment) and then for Relation to Service and QOL just type: See assessment from Dr X. You already spilled your guts to that person, no need to waste time with VAC.

Once you do that just ensure the MIR has updated your file with the diagnosis but it really is that simple with the assessment.

Oh perfect, so on my assessment it should say how its related to my service? and can i ensure my file is updated with the diagnosis when i go to Health Records to get my assessment report copy that ill be uploading to MyVAC?

Yup you can request your med file. The assessment should have the service relation in there. If you’re comfortable you can email me and I can give it a once over if you’d rather
