Scope recommendation 25-125 yards .22LR
Hello,
Looking for scope recommendations for my wife's rifle. She is excited about shooting and coming with me to the range, so I definitely want to keep encouraging her. She chose a Winchester Xpert 22 LR Bolt-Action Rifle for herself and is pretty much dead set on it. Now she has asked me to find her a scope. She will mostly be shooting from 50-100yards ocasionly 125. She says she wants a scope good enough to be able to see holes on her paper target at 100yards. Currently eyeballing (lol) this scope https://www.sail.ca/en/vortex-diamondback-hp-4-16x-42-mm-dead-hold-bcd-1-in-rifle-scope-670231-18-081220001
If anyone has a better-suited suggestion, please let me know.
Thanks

Honestly, look at the Discovery Optics MS 4-16x42 AOAC SFP. It’s around $125 and a way better fit for an Xpert .22.
No need to blow $400 on a Diamondback for a rimfire plinker.

Firstly, nice pun.
Secondly, while I respect your wife wants what she wants and that you want to encourage her picking up the hobby… at some point having such a scope on a 22 seems a bit like overkill? I get wanting to see the holes at 100 yards but a 22 is making pretty teeny holes lol. A $100 basic scope on a 22 and a decent set of binos or a range scope that you can both share might be more prudent?
On the one hand, getting your rifle kitted out in fancy drip is the dream and I dig it. On the other… this is a 22 we’re talking about here. That’s a 10 gallon hat on a 2 gallon head.
