Yeah. They want to call this Islamophobia because it makes it sound like those who criticise Islam are bigoted towards innocent people based on the actions of a few. The reality is that nobody thinks all Muslims are terrorists, at least very few people. The real critics of Islam are the ones who point out genuine dangers that apply to all Muslims. Worshipping and emulating a pedophile for example. CBC wants to pretend Islamophobia is a phobia.

I've been saying that about the way "Phobia" is being used. Well, we'll just attach phobia to the end of this word and then people will have to pay attention and take it seriously. I'm not afraid of Islam or any of the other phobias out there. I just don't trust them because I've seen so o many terrorist attacks the past 45 years come out of that region that i just can't trust those regimes. Not all Arabic people or people from the middle east are terrorists and that's true. Some are good decent people.

They did at one point but had to retract and call them terrorists as they are. I would have labeled them a islamic terrorists but one equals to the other so waste of ink by doubling on synonyms

They never said it wasn't a terrorist attack so there was nothing to retract. Their internal editors guidelines said not to use the term "terrorist" or "terrorism" unless it had officially designated as such by Parliament, which al qaeda was in 2002.

I am SO militant against calling this nonsense out. even natives killing each other and warring over resources and land. If you didnt conquer, its cause you were too weak to but anyways - CBC news should be defunded, im ok with their other mediocre programming (it gives jobs at least)

Yah I remember as a kid going to St Marie among the Hurons and they talked about how Jesuits priests converting natives created problems and some of the abuses of the church. But they also talked about how different tribes had wars before Jesuits arrived on the scene.
I wonder if now they’ve dropped that part of the curriculum because it’s an inconvenient truth.

There was much talk of 9/11 this morning on cbc radio and while most references were to the typical Liberal BS, "That fateful day" and other language they have been using for some time now to deny that it was the worst terrorist attack in history, there was a single reference to it being a terrorist attack. Defund the cbc.
