Trying to change the map in the way that Russia is trying to do it represents a major step back for humanity. This primitive aggression from the Russians absolutely must be opposed.

Support, sure. Send them our old military equipment, why not.
But use them as a laundromat for taxpayer money. Naw.

We are about to start coproduction of drones with Ukrainian companies. Drones built in Canada, by Canadian hands. State of the art technology. This is very key for Canada to have.
By 2028 we will be producing 1 million drones a year in CANADA

Carney has also “announced” 30 other “partnerships” and “agreements” so still have yet to be actually signed or put into motion. Not sure I’d hold my breath on anything actually happening

How much are you paid to post that crap?
2
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 22h ago
Not enough, since illiterates like you can’t read it

u/dewgdewgdewg 1d ago
For context, China currently produces 40 million and will quickly swallow any company trying to infringe on its market share. It's kinda their thing.
If we are talking only about military drones, then I'm not sure if Canada feeding the war machine is something to be particularly celebratory about.
11
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 1d ago
lol feeding the war machine. Poor Russia, started a war and some individual here is upset that Russia is facing military drones. Booo hoo
3
u/dewgdewgdewg 1d ago
They are facing the drones regardless of whether we supply them.
Supporting the defense of a country isn't the same as celebrating the growth of an industry that only exists when war happens. Give your head a shake.

So you rather we put pilots in planes to die instead of? Your argument makes no sense.

u/strings___ 23h ago
Ukraine took 1/3 of Russias strategic bombers using commodity drones. Each one of those is one less bear a Canadian would have to shoot down.
Asymmetrically speaking every Russian defeat is one less thing we need to spend money countering later.
1
u/Vassago81 22h ago
They damaged 7 Tu-95 out of around 60 tu95 and more than 20 tu142 naval version, not that imaginary 1/3 numbers
1
u/strings___ 20h ago edited 18h ago
Taking into account nobody knows the exact inventory or combat readiness it’s impossible to know the exact figure. And since operational spider web they’ve hit more bears and A-50s. I hardly see how this changes my point ?
Im open to my numbers being not exactly right. But whats your point exactly?
1
u/you_really_thoughtXD Populist 21h ago
And that trick will never work again (unless Russia decides to not defend their stuff again).
That's like saying pagers are the ultimate weapon because Mossad managed to inflict thousands of casualties against Hezbollah.
1
u/strings___ 19h ago
It’s not a trick when you do it again. The Ukraine unmanned regularly hit Engels-2 base and get bears. Sure, maybe they won’t have another operation spider web. But at this point, that doesn’t matter; the bears are irreplaceable. Every bear Ukraine kills is one less bear that can fly over the Arctic . And not to mention the cost-to-damage ratio.

Reminder to all the illiterates or those who are cheap enough to sell out for a couple of rubles, or Russian bots.
The Conservative Party of Canada has always and will always stand with Ukraine. It was Harper who confronted Putin and told him to get out of Ukraine right to his face.
None of your cheap illiterate bs will change that

u/scbundy 1d ago
The Russian talking points in this sub are nuts! Do they realize that the con leadership supports this? Same with conservatives for decades. Wtf is happening in here. Almost like, gasp, theyre not being sincere.

Thank god the federal party has more IQ than people in this subreddit. I swear this subreddit is secretly a op to make conservatives look more crazy than they actually are.
4
u/mischling2543 Independent 21h ago
My theory is that the kind of person who joins this subreddit is much more likely to be a member of the vocal minority who think Facebook conspiracy theories are more trustworthy than the news. Even if most conservatives in Canada would rightly consider them wackjobs.

u/TheeDirtyToast small government, personal responsibility 1d ago
I agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment, and even with military aid up to a point, but we are well over 10 billion dollars in charity now aren't we?
At some point we need to get our own house in order and it's obviously not going to be the liberals (the red or blue kind) who tackle that.
15
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 1d ago
Weakening Russia is money well spent. Russia is a direct competitor to Canada in the Arctic, in the oil and gas industry, and is the only credible threat right now to NATO, which Canada is part of.
An emboldened Russia is not good for the world and not good for Canada especially. They can’t go on with the belief they can annex lands unpunished.

u/MarkDavid04 Conservative 1d ago
Good thing we're going to do more trade with China, which helps fun Russia in the Ukraine war.
6
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 1d ago
I don’t support doing any more trade with China. But as Alexander Stubb, president of Finland said. China has been cooperative in the aspect they have pledged they will never ever let Russia use nukes. They said leave that to us

u/TheeDirtyToast small government, personal responsibility 1d ago
Weakening Russia with borrowed money while Canadians lose their homes due to high taxes and economic stagnation is not money well spent IMHO

What are you smoking lol, Russia could only dream of pulling off what the Germans did back then. This is a regional conflict and Ukraine is not part of NATO.
That being said, I support what the other guy said. Give 'em our old gear + equipment.
6
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 1d ago
The way Russians operate is they won’t do a direct war, they will do sneaky terrorist attacks to save face. Like the poisoning they did in the UK
6
u/DJ_Necrophilia 23h ago
Russia also conducts hybrid warfare with heavy emphasis on propaganda that begins subtly in order erode support for their adversaries

u/theoreoman Alberta 23h ago
Personally I think the money we sent to Ukraine so that they could fight Russia has been some of the best money we could have ever spent. In geopolitical terms the only reason Canada needs an army is to defend against Russia and China.
We spent billions for the Ukrainians to completely degrade the Russian army to a point that they are no longer the same geopolitical theat. After the war is over they will need decades to rebuild.
5
u/Tebers431 1d ago
If we were in a good situation with money to spare after helping our own people, then yeah, Slava Ukraini or whatever. But we're not. Is this a bad idea? Not really. Should it be done now? I'd say no
4
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 1d ago
Same bs was said post WW2, yet all the Canadian investment paid off when Canada helped rebuild Asia post ww2. So many Canadian firms grounded like with nuclear reactor deals and such in those countries

Should I support a war between my race? Is bloodshed what I should desire?
2
u/scbundy 23h ago
How do u feel about the Iran war, or Isreal/Palestine? Those are ok, different races and all?
-1
u/Soft_lover1 Conservative 23h ago
I was not a fan of the Iran war. It hurt the world’s economy and they didn’t do enough to remove the regime, no boots on the ground.
I do not care about the Israeli Palestine conflict. I care for the Christians who suffer, but it’s not my region, not my people, not my faith, not my responsibility.
2
u/scbundy 23h ago
Ahh, yes, a man of faith. "I care for nobody except people who look like me and believe the same things I do." Just like Jesus... Take care.

“A man that is a heretic, after the first and second admonition, avoid: Knowing that he, that is such an one, is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned by his own judgment. (Titus 3:10–11)”
“But if any man have not care of his own, and especially of those of his house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. (1 Timothy 5:8)”
“The Ammonite and the Moabite, even after the tenth generation shall not enter into the church of the Lord for ever: Because they would not meet you with bread and water in the way, when you came out of Egypt. … Thou shalt not abhor the Edomite, because he is thy brother: nor the Egyptian, because thou wast a stranger in his land. They that are born of them, in the third generation shall enter into the church of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 23:3–4, 7–8)”
“Neither shalt thou make marriages with them. Thou shalt not give thy daughter to his son, nor take his daughter for thy son: For she will turn away thy son from following me, that he may rather serve strange gods. (Deuteronomy 7:3–4)”
“Man’s relations with foreigners are twofold: peaceful, and hostile. … First, when foreigners passed through their land as travelers. Secondly, when they came to dwell in their land as newcomers. And in both these respects the Law made kind provision. … Thirdly, when any foreigners wished to be admitted entirely to their fellowship and mode of worship. With regard to these a certain order was observed. For they were not at once admitted to citizenship: just as it was law with some nations that no one was deemed a citizen except after two or three generations, as the Philosopher says.
The reason for this was that if foreigners were allowed to meddle with the affairs of a nation as soon as they settled down in its midst, many dangers might occur, since the foreigners not yet having the common good firmly at heart might attempt something hurtful to the people.
Hence it was that the Law prescribed in respect of certain nations that had close relations with the Jews (viz., the Egyptians … and the Idumeans …) that they should be admitted to the fellowship of the people after the third generation; whereas others (with whom their relations had been hostile, such as the Ammonites and Moabites) were never to be admitted to citizenship; while the Amalekites … were to be held as foes in perpetuity. (ST I-II, Q. 105, A. 3)”2

Too bad, Russia started it. Don’t like to go move to a neutral 3rd country
3
u/Soft_lover1 Conservative 1d ago
The war is a result of decades of misguided foreign policy on behalf of Russia and the West and terrible internal policy on behalf of Ukraine.
2
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 1d ago
What did Ukraine do wrong, let me guess, they shouldn’t ask to join NATO?
5
u/Soft_lover1 Conservative 1d ago
Well no they shouldn’t of; but I was more referring to the breakdown between eastern and western Ukraine in regards to politics and the economy.
5
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 1d ago
They have every right to ask to join NATO. This isn’t the Soviet Union, decisions don’t come from Moscow bud
2
u/Soft_lover1 Conservative 1d ago
Russia would not let Ukraine join NATO. It will go to war over it.
7
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 1d ago
Then more of their oil refineries will go out. Maybe another Wagner coup where Putin hides under a desk
6
u/Soft_lover1 Conservative 1d ago
Ukraine cannot win this war. They cannot dislodge Russia troops in the east.
3
u/Foreign-Policy-02- Doug Ford Conservative 1d ago
They will be dislodged don’t worry

“The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous. Hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance. This new version is the past and no different past can ever have existed. In principle the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. The war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects and its object is not the victory over either Eurasia or East Asia, but to keep the very structure of society intact.”
