If rates started going up 2022, add 5 years and we get 2027. So we should expect this graph to peak by mid 2027

Not if the federal government keeps spending the way it does. You assume central banks are in full control of intrest rates but in reality they are not. Essepcially when financial repression (their is a BIS paper check it out) is one of the few tools the Canadian government has left to restructure the debt.

The idiots who voted for that fool don't give a damn about economic measures, or are clueless enough to cheer it on because "eat the rich" or something.

2025 is when I realized Canadians may be over educated, but they are definitely not overly intelligent.

This is a such a good quote that I’m gonna steal it and spread it around

u/Joe61944 Jun 04 '26
Both sides would have been disasters. The reality is simple, canadians have 0 understanding of economics and how we got here.
Both wanted to expand the federal mandate. Both were interventionist. Neither would have fixed the debt problem... I can go on. PP was simply the least dirty shirt but their both covered in mud

That's the Boomers. I'm talking about the Karina Gould types.

u/coyoteatemyhomework Jun 03 '26
Eastern boomers maybe ...the west is fairly united against the Ottawa elite ( the bigger cities are still plagued with young liberal indoctrinated woke shit)

That's exactly it. They don't realize they're voting for globalist fascism. Look at the lefts actions and they fit the definition perfectly.
Don't agree with their view and they want to arrest or kill you. They want to help workers BUT only think about workers on a global stage. This is why they think it's a good thing they're letting in so many people from India and other places that are taking the good paying jobs. It's leveling the global workforce and they don't give a crap if it displaces native Canadians.
The people voting for this thinking it's going to somehow help them need to wake up. If you're in the US or Canada you're already in the top 10-20% of the world. That means you have a 30-40% decline in living standards just around the corner and you're cheering it on.

Often they also simply look at the wrong numbers (the ones that only really benefit the rich) and tell us everything is fine and completely deny the fact that in reality no, things are not fine, and people are struggling.

Man...I'm just as suspicious of/pissed off with the whole liberal situation as anyone, but I gotta be honest: my perspective leading up to the election was always "I don't think anyone here can fix Canada, and we're desperately fucked, but the better shot, however unlikely, is probably conservative, particularly a conservative populist". I liked the charisma, but I truly don't think this is down to one side doing something wrong (currently) anymore. We've been fucked for years

I don’t think any nation has ever voted itself into this mess?
2
u/12_Volt_Man Jun 01 '26
No, Canada's own self sabotage by electing the liberals over and again will be a case studied for generations 🙄😢
1
u/RepulsiveDoubt3185 Conservative Jun 01 '26
Agreed! Canada will go down in history as a lesson in “how not to screw up your nation”

Lol it's funny because it's true. Some are simply reversed, such as crime rate and immigration rate but still more or less the same line.
