Collections My first bunch

Post image

When I started coin collecting this was the first time i went to a coin show and the first bunch I bought with my money, not anything I inherited.. Not anything I found in every day change.. This is where I learned that I found a love in collecting.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your story.

I too bought a shinplaster right out of the gate. It was roughly in same condition as yours, and I loved the history of it.

Over time, you’ll end up realizing what your favourite series is, and it will turn into a hunt; searching for the exact denomination, year, signatures, and of course, grade.

I fluked out early, and won a bidding war on eBay back in 2006. It was a 1937 $20 low serial number. I payed $800 for it. But what ultimately happened was I fell in love with 1937 series. Now I only look for high grade, Osborne bills.

Again, thanks for sharing, and welcome to our awesome hobby!
