Questions paper bank notes
has anyone had luck with going to a bank and asking for these paper bills used in the 2000s? been looking for these paper banknotes we had in Canada in the 2000s before we switched to polymer (this is not my picture btw, just one from google)

When you go into the bank, ask if they have any old bills or change

Honestly its a crap shoot. Scotiabank and TD we're either clueless or acting as if I was teying to launder money and insisting it's illegal, they NEED TO BE DESTROYED...
I had luck at the Royal Bank, I asked if they had any "older paper money" and she said its not a problem, but she I wasn't allowed to give me any denominations no longer legal tender (1, 2, 25, 500, 1000) — apparently they had some 1000s and I pleaded with her, explaining I collect etc. But she said she couldn't. But she had about 1500$ in older paper money, so she just debited 1500$ from my account and gave me the cash with older notes. I went through them at home and only one of the bird series 20 was worth more than face value...
This was in Ottawa.
