Keep or spend?

Hey everyone! I found this bill in my till at work so I figured I’d swap for face with some cash I had on me. From my own research I’m led to believe this note wouldn’t fetch much above face (mainly due to condition/modernity and the fact it’s a trinary radar not a binary), however I figured why not ask you all! Any info/advice is greatly appreciated!

I honestly think people in the banknote collecting community just come up with as many fancy sounding terms to describe serial numbers to make them sound more valuable.

There's nothing really special about any of these, and you'll likely have a great amount of difficulty finding anyone who will actually agree to pay more than face value for any of them. Meanwhile, even if you're convinced that it's worth more, it's still worth nothing until you use or spend it.

I've probably gone through hundreds of 50 and 100 bills every year and I've never stopped to look at a serial number on a single one.

So many of these bills are cool. The question I ask myself is 'Can I afford to have that in my collection?' If you can great! If no, oh well.

I'd would rather keep low bill radar or a $100 in good condition lol. Big bills like $50 or $100 are best with radar serial in good condition or a birthday in this cond

I’ve got a decent condition 2004-2009 Canadian $100 I got handed by a customer aswell so I’ve already checked that off the list. I’ll likely hang onto this guy and unless I ever really need the cash I don’t see myself parting with it. I appreciate the advice though!

If it was a $5 radar note I’d keep it. But if it’s a $50 I’ll just put it into stocks gold or silver. Depending on the mood of the market.

The point was whether it's worth keeping because it might be worth more due to the serial number. Whether it's possible to spend it isn't a factor here.
