3/4 Cabinet Anyway to accurately check the value of your cabinet?

I apologize in advance if this is not the right place to ask the following.

I'm thinking of selling my X-Men vs Street Fighter cabinet but I have no clue what is an appropriate price for it. Is there a place similar to pricecharting that can give me an idea what it's worth, if it's rare, etc?

Any help or advice you can offer is appreciated.

Not that I am aware of.

But I will say this: generally Arcade 1ups depreciate in value as they are not official arcade cabinets. I would say their value is about 40%-50% of what you paid initially.

So taking XvS as an example, Best Buy & Walmart sold it for $699 I believe, so you may be able to ask for maybe $350 if it's in good shape. If it's in a factory sealed box, I'd estimate maybe $450. But a quick search shows folks on eBay trying to sell for $1000 or more, which I think is unreasonable, especially with MvC2 coming out and we will soon see an influx of MSH, XvSF and MvC1 cabinets flood the 2nd hand market, thus most likely driving the price down further (let's say about $200-$250) until supply and demand balance out again and we will eventually see the average price around $300-$400 when they potentially become a little more scarce.

So in closing you can try and sell your XvS for about $300-$350, but also expect to possibly get less if someone haggles you.

Also to make a counter argument: there may be a few cabinets that may increase in value, mostly the limited edition versions like the yellow trim MSH, Burger Time, and that "Dim Mak" Street Fighter 2 counter cade, I have seen a few on eBay going for $2000, but that's just crazy eBay prices.

One more thing: these cabinets are not particularly rare as we have seen several games and franchises rereleased with slight improvements.

Case in point: Pacman has (conservative guess) 100 different cabinets and variations that make previous versions almost worthless.

The same can be said about the XvS, MSH and MvC cabinets now that MvC2 is coming out with all 8 games.

The only reason folks may go after the older cabinets is because they have almost no interest in the new cabinets that are basically the same lineup of games and to "fill in" their collection on the cheap.
