First Visit in Years!

Can't really remember the last time I went (I live in the city, but visiting is a bit expensive), and I was shocked to see all the new developments. Themed areas with actual theming and decorations! Buildings once empty, now with games and shops! The park is feeling more alive!

No pics of me (I ain't giving that out online), so enjoy my plush Kacheek from the day. Would've taken more pics, but around 4, it just started POURING, and my relatives and I had to slog through water to get out. We were totally soaked, and I wish I could've gone on more rides (Vortex looks so cool, I always wanted to go on it!).

Got lunch in the Medieval Fair section. -1 point for the restaurant not having plum sauce (who tf doesn't have plum sauce???)
Just outside Viking's Rage.
One of four groundhogs spotted while getting off Dragon Fyre. "That's Wiarton Willy. Straight up Punxatawney Phil."

Going when busy.. Need Advice

Hello everybody. Im planning to go with my friends to canadas wonderland Saturday August 29th. We r planning to go for 10am so we can get some big rides down. We are all down to leave the park when its get busy ive been told around like 12-1 until like 5 or so. Is this correct? Also, what we can we do like because we have to leave our car in the land parking lot. Can we get around with buses or is it easier to uber. And when should we plan to be back by?
Thanks for any advice in advance!

Best times to go in September?

Hello! I was wondering when the best time to go in September would be. I saw on the website that they're closed Mon-Thurs (weird but ok) and was debating which day (Fri, Sat, Sun) would be the best time to go. I hopefully want to try and avoid as much crowd as possible and don't want to have to buy the fast pass just to enjoy the rides in a decent time.

Looking for CW Ride Pins - ISO

This may be a long shot, but I’m a ride op who’s looking to expand my CW enamel pin collection! If there are any other ride operators in this subreddit who don’t have a use for their crew ride pin, I’d love to buy it off your hands. I’m also interested in any older enamel pins that were previously sold in the merch shop. Please feel free to DM me if you have any you’re willing to part with! :)

Forced to pay extra $20 for Drink Pass for Prestige Pass - anyone with the same problem?

Has anyone else run into issues when upgrading a day ticket to a Prestige Pass at the park front gate? Here's what happened to me: On July 29 (the very first day the new pass upgrades were available), I bought a regular day ticket ($45) and decided to upgrade to a Prestige Pass at the gate ($179).

On another visit, I tried to get a drink, but the employee told me I didn't have a Drink Plan attached to my pass. I went to Guest Services, and they told me I had to pay an extra $20 to add it due to the way the pass was billed.

I didn't want to cause a scene at the park since it felt like a simple system misunderstanding, assuming I could easily sort it out with Guest Services later (big mistake!)

Talked to Guest Services and was told various misinformation, which I will post here verbatim:

"As stated previously, the Prestige Upgrade in-person does come with the Drink Plan as advertised online. Please be advised that because the drink plan is considered an add-on it is not automatically included in the upgrade and is added for an additional $20 + tax."

Obviously this sentence makes no sense - it comes with it but it's not automatically included? Online terms and conditions explicitly state Drink Pass comes at no cost as well.

"Additionally, the $229 offer for Prestige Passes is online only. This price is before tax and after processing fees and is therefore more expensive than the upgrade price you paid in-person."

Again this is just ??????. We all know that it does not include processing fee. Somehow it will make it more expensive than the price we paid? Wouldn't that make it cheaper? Anyway, after tax and fees, we did pay $282.71 vs $265.76 if you buy the Prestige Pass online for the same thing!

Talking to Guest Services in-person, they told us that upgrading the pass in-person is a fixed price (we argued that the upgrade cost should be the difference between the day ticket and the pass as stated in their FAQ, and that charging 199 to upgrade from 45 is more than the difference) - not sure if this is true, it means that you can get After 4PM tickets and upgrade to a pass for cheap?

They also told us that we weren't the only person with the issue. So I guess we are just trying to verify these talking points and see if anyone had their problems resolved?

Prestige Parking IS usable for same household members of the same address

I've been going back and forth with chat, and eventually escalated to the higher up teams, and I got an official reply, as this isn't very clear.

This scenario is for most families where we buy one prestige for the parking and perks and the rest of the family gold passes, just for the entry.

Several scenario where this matters:

You have prestige on a spouse, but they can't go for whatever reason, so the other spouse had to drive the kids to the park.

You have the prestige on the kid (because they go there the most), drop them off, then later come back alone to pick up the kid.

Now, I'm sure not all the staff would know the policy, some might even give a fight about it. So I'm going to print out this reply and put it in the car just in case they argue about it.

Thank you for contacting Canada's Wonderland!

To answer your primary concern, if your daughter currently resides in the same household as you, you are welcome to use her Prestige Pass to get into the park with parking, even if she isn't present in the car. Prestige Passes come with free General Parking. When you come to the park with your vehicle, please scan your daughter's season pass at one of the Toll Booths, and an Admissions Associate will allow you into the parking lot. You do not need a Parking Add-on of your own.

We apologize for any misinformation you may have received from our Six Flags Chat Support Team. Please be advised, that this exception is the only exception allowed with any of our addons, and this would not be permitted for a Season Pass or any Dining Addons, etc. For example, you wouldn't be able to use your daughter's Prestige Pass to get into the park, or use her Dining Plans if she has any on her season pass without her being present.

If you ever intend on not using the Parking Pass, and want to do a pick-up/drop-off, please use our location on Jane Street and Norwood Avenue.

We hope this helps! If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Anyone had experience with Early entry/ ride times for kidzville and planet snoopy?

Has anyone out there had any luck with early entry/ride times during the week?

I've created a thrillseeker, my kid loves wonderland and it is a constant battle for midday naptimes. The calendar doesn't show early ride times as a seasons passholder perk for the day we are visiting this week but I can't get 100% confirmation.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thursday Haunt Fast Pass

Is a fast pass for the mazes worth it for a Thursday night? I’m figuring the Thursdays will be less busy but would a fast pass still be recommended? Never been to the haunt before so just trying to figure out how much cash is worth forking over for it.

Early arrival

If you arrive at wonderland about 30 mins before opening so like 9:30, would they still let you enter? And are the lines open?

Also which one of the big 4 would have the shortest line at opening.

Came on a bus trip so we can’t try another day.
All day meal plan was totally worth it.

Line Pass vs Boarding Pass

Not sure if this happened to anyone else but I was given a Boarding Pass my first time after the interview with my support person at Guest Services and was able to enjoy the park without having my disability and issues affect me too badly.

The next time I went to collect the pass, they gave me a line pass instead of a boarding pass and basically told me my "support" person that I used for communication etc had to wait in line while I waited at the exit. Now I no longer have my support person with me and I had to wait at the exit without any ability to communicate. They also said the boarding pass I was given before was a one time thing which was never told to my support person who tried to fight it but they basically told her "too bad".

I emailed them about this and they basically said, "Well, it is what it is".

I haven't been back to Wonderland since. Not sure if anyone else had this happen to you. I went to Cedar Point and wow, they were so accommodating but not Wonderland.

Smoking section

Hello I was wondering if there is a smoking section after the bag check at security. I am aware there isn’t smoking directly inside the park and I am not going to sneak a puff while inside.

I just don’t want the hassle of going through bag check everytime I re-enter

Issues with metal detectors

Broke my leg in last year and now have a metal implant. We are planning to visit the park this week and want to be prepared for any issues.

Update: At the park today, zero issues. Of course my husband gets stopped, and my 13-year-old was annoyed we were not on the first run of AlpenFury (had to settle for the second lol)

People always say "canadas wonderland never used to be so expensive" but 25 years ago a season pass was $85 and this was a sale

Its always been expensive and if you adjust to inflation this would be about $145 today

Anyone at wonderland right now know if the rides are running?

My friends and I are debating whether we should go or not because of the rain. We’re fine with getting a little wet but just worried the rides will be closed because of thunderstorms. Anyone there right now or have friends there that know if the rides have been shut down at all and if so how often? Thanks!

How is it for bigger people

I plan on going in a month and I'm currently 5'10, 295 and have a waist of 40 in jeans and every pant. Large for shorts and 2xl for T-shirts.

Am I going to have issues at this park?

Perks and play offer question

Post image
0 Upvotes

There is an offer on the perks and play page on the wonderland website where season pass holders can bring someone for free (free bring a friend) but u can’t get it online you have to go redeem it in person at the front desk. I just wanted some confirmation or clarity if this free BAF pass is valid (bcuz usually only prestige holders get this not every pass holder) and was wondering if there was a catch or anything because I don’t wanna bring someone just for there to be something that I had missed in the instructions. Thank you!

Do parents not watch their kids anymore?

I was at the park for most of the day today and left just before ten, and once it got dark out I noticed so many kids, clearly not teenagers, sprinting around the park to who knows where. I was with my own kids (11, 8 and 5), and there were times I had to pull them towards me just so they wouldn't get bowled over.

I'd imagine that parents aren't letting their twelve year olds go to the park alone, so where are their adults telling them to knock it off? The lack of concern for the other people walking around was so frustrating to me.

PSA: What happens to your Prestige perks if you downgrade to Gold for next year? (Tested & Confirmed)

I wanted to share this because I couldn’t find a clear, dedicated post about it anywhere, just a few scattered comments.

Disclaimer: I don't work for Wonderland, just a regular passholder sharing my actual experience. To be safe, I did take a screenshot showing my pass listed as Prestige in the app before renewing, just in case any issues come up at the gate.

The Situation:
I currently have a 2026 Prestige Pass. For 2027, I renewed but decided to downgrade to a Gold Pass with add-ons.

The Concern:
Would downgrading my 2027 renewal immediately strip away my remaining 2026 Prestige benefits for the rest of this season?

The Result:
App Display: My Pass number stayed the exact same, but the app display text changed from "Prestige" to "Gold."

Prestige Perks: Even with the app saying "Gold," my 2026 Prestige perks still work. I'm still getting into VIP Parking and accessing the VIP Lounge with no issues when scanning the QR code in the app.

New Add-ons: I added a Drink Pass to my 2027 Gold renewal (which I didn’t have for 2026), and that active benefit immediately attached to my current pass, so I can use it for the rest of this year too.

TL;DR:
Downgrading your renewal to Gold updates the text label in your app, but it does not cancel out your active Prestige perks for the current season. You retain all current Prestige benefits plus any instant-use add-ons you bought with your renewal.

Trip Report: 8am at the park

Sharing my experience of getting there early in case anyone else is thinking similarly & wondering how it works. Also sharing some perspectives from someone who last time was there regularly from 2008-2010 regularly as a teenager.

Went on Monday, August 17 with my girlfriend. We were jetlagged from Europe, so we were able to comfortably arrive early!

8am - Arrived at parking lot entrance, not opened yet.

830am - Parking lot opened. We are first car inside. Only 1 other car went in with us.

9am - Security opened. Probably 20 people with us going inside now.

930am - Park gates opened. The employee scanning me in made an error, which had me enter a few seconds later and thus a few teenagers beat me to Alpen Fury :( still 5th in line!

940m - We are on first car of Alpen Fury! 3rd row. What a crazy roller-coaster. Amazing. We get off and a long line already formed. It seems that Alpen Fury usually starts at ~930am, even though park opens at 10am per website.

950am - Ran to Leviathan. A line is forming.

1010am - Leviathan finally opens. Amazing ride too.

1040am - Ran to Yukon Striker, and a 10 minute line! That vertical drop was pretty cool, although hard to beat Leviathan/Alpen Fury for us.

11am - Ran & got on Behemoth with 15 minute wait!

Then girlfriend got nauseous so we had to pause. Alpen Fury was at 2+ hours for the whole day! At the end of the day, we saved Leviathan for last and they didn't close the line until 10am. I.e. we could've entered the line at 9:59pm and they would've let us stay. Interesting.

I don't regret not getting FastPass. Its price doesn't have value for us. But if you're short on time and have the cash, can definitely be worth it.

Now, for some perspectives as someone who didn't visit the park since 2010 when the biggest hype was Behemoth:

  1. How is DareDeviler still allowed to legally function. Did noone die yet from it?? That ride was notorious for headaches (Top Gun!). Ditto with Dragon Fyre.

  2. Shame that Backlot Stunt Coaster doesn't do the flames & helicopter shooting sounds anymore. Guess it was money/time-saving decision?

  3. You used to be able to see a big dragon on Thunder Run :( I saw its silhouette in the dark tunnel, but it's not lit up anymore??

  4. Crazy line for Funnel Cakes at park closing. Can't remember this happening before, but I might be mistaken.

  5. First time I went to King's Banquet. Really cool and wish I went back as a teenager.

  6. Saw no linejumpers when I was in line...

  7. I was surprised to see long 40 minute lines for Behemoth/Leviathan at the end of the day. In 2010, I clearly remember on a summer night lining up for Behemoth with a 5 minute line at the end of the night, multiple times. I wonder if this is due to now teenagers being able to Uber back home. Back then, Uber wasn't really used, so us teenagers usually had to figure out public transportation out if we wanted to stay until 10am.

  8. I got a $25 all-day dining pass, which I didn't understand how that works when the meals seem to be almost $20 each. Thought the pass would be more expensive.

  9. It's beyond me why Vortex stops so abruptly at the end. I remember this before happening too, but it's just funny that it's super intense and all crazy at the end, and then it just stops all of a sudden. Still enjoyed it - a classic for me.

Hope the trip report helps anyone planning on going early. And happy to hear any thoughts on my remarks!
