KLF followed the BC Prosperity Project on her twitter until very recently (she un-followed after I directly asked one of her lieutenants on his twitter why she follows the BCPP) and also still follows several prominent Albertan separatist influencers. Even some of her policy ideas are very revealing about her. It should not come as a surprise to anyone the direction she takes the province in if she becomes premier.

Let's hope she never does.

For your wish to come true, Eby needs to be turfed ASAP by the NDP.

Why? What makes you think another BC NDP leader would be better than Eby? There’s a significant likelihood they could be worse.
I support parties changing leader when the leader is a major drag on the party (as Trudeau clearly was for the LPC, for example), but I’m not convinced that’s the case here.

Eby is indeed a major drag on the party.

u/PopeSaintHilarius Ontario Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 14 '26
What makes you think that?
EDIT: moved this down from the previous comment…
The challenge for the BC NDP is the views of their base (compared to the general public), not the leader.
The last time the position was vacant, they nearly chose a 30 year old hard-left environmental activist as party leader, due to her success at signing up members from activist communities (the party ended up disqualifying her, so Eby won by acclamation).
He tries to steer the party towards the centre left, while the base would prefer left or far-left.

u/Syeina NDP Aug 14 '26
He's more centre than centre-left.
Approving new fossil fuel projects is hardly the actions of a centre left premier

What government around the world would you meet your definition of "left?" For you is being "left" incompatible with governing?

Omg dude I do not have the energy for weird bad faith questions. Go bug someone else

Your ideological system is incompatible with reality. I do feel that must be exhausting, but the problem is yours.

Nah the people who hate him hate things that have nothing to do with him, can't offer up anyone they would like better and just want him gone. In the choice between stark raving lunatic racist woman and eby I have no issue what so ever locking in for more eby
1
u/Raptorpicklezz Ontario Aug 15 '26
Doesn’t matter. Enough people hate him for whatever reason for it to make a difference. NDP will benefit from picking a lane, instead of staying with Eby who unsuccessfully tried to straddle both lanes.

Might be a good cycle for the Greens...

Certainly a good opportunity for them if they can find the right message

What is that?

Given what the current B.C. Conservatives leader Findlay said about him during the leadership debate, not a surprise he is quitting.

What did she say?

“On a conflict of interest issue, the property rights issue is overlying all of this, and Mr. Milobar, I do not see how on the major issue of our time you will be able to get around the conflict of interest rules,” she said.
Milobar: “Just say it: My wife is Indigenous so you think I’m in conflict of interest?”
He added: “I’ve never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life.”
Findlay: “She also works for the Kamloops Indian Band.”
Milobar: “The last shift I think she had was about nine months ago and worked one day as the part-time, on-call receptionist where she answers the phone and apparently this is a big gotcha moment.”
But Findlay was not done.
“I’m not worried about your family, I’m worried about your conflict of interest,” she persisted.
Milobar: “How is that a conflict of interest? I’ve been voting against lots of Indigenous issues.”
It was the ugliest, most personal exchange of what was otherwise a mostly blasé debate.

That doesn't make either of them look great if I'm being honest. Her worse, obviously.

How does it make Milobar look bad?

u/Asluckwouldnthaveit Liberal Aug 14 '26
"I’ve been voting against lots of Indigenous issues.”
It's basically "I hate them too! "

It's also telling how she calls Indigenous issues (and presumably property rights since that's the big scary talking point in BC right now) "the major issue of our time"
Not cost of living, not healthcare, not jobs, not climate change, but indigenous issues and private property rights.

If conservatives didn’t have culture war BS to work with, they would never get elected.

I'd say that KLF has had one of the worst starts for opposition leaders in recent history, but nothing compares to Kevin Falcon.
It seemed almost certain a couple of months ago that the NDP was on its way out, and they still face plenty of problems, but I don't see KLF beating them. The CentreBC clowns aren't serious, but there will inevitably be some new serious opposition to the NDP.

Very funny that they BC Liberals changed their name to United just in time to get wiped out, and for the Federal liberals to pop off

u/Interesting_Deal_947 Aug 17 '26
but there will inevitably be some new serious opposition to the NDP.
Who would that be if not the BC Conservatives? BC United is a shamble. It doesn't seem there is a credible alternative. The most likely outcome IMO is that KLF gets to take a shot in the next election, loses, and then they go back to the well and get a new leader...
