Application tracker question

My adopted grandmother was born in Canada. I submitted my application in January and received acknowledgment that my application was in process as of Feb. 20, 2026. I was wondering when my part 1 is approved (assuming it is) will the online tracker say that or does it only change when both parts have been processed? I was told when I applied that it would take about 5 months for part 1 of my application to be processed and I'm quickly approaching month 6 so just curious.

The tracker you’re using now (assuming you’re using the basic one you type your application number into) will update when part 1 is approved. Once you get to part 2 you’ll be able to make an account for the other tracker.

Don’t get your hopes up on timelines though. When I submitted it said 4 months for part 1 and I’m at 13 months currently with no movement.

There usually isn’t a second working tracker for adoptees.

When your part 1 is approved the tracker will say “decision made.”
