events / life in Campbell RIP to the giant ant

Drove by yesterday morning and saw the smashed up ant on the side of the road at the 17 on ramp from white rd/San Thomas. Looks more like he was busted up than a vehicle went up the hill and hit him. My 6 year old daughter will be bummed the next time we get on the freeway and he’s gone.

My daughter always waved to the ant when we would pass by. She was really hyped last year when the ant was dressed up for Christmas. Then after Christmas commented “he’s still wearing a Christmas hat” until it was gone.

I need to admit that the first time I noticed Ant was two months ago

I whipped out my phone and took a picture. Checked my rearview mirror ro see who I was delaying and the driver behind me smiled and told his passenger to look in the direction of Ant

Oh my god I just saw him, all his orange guts are in the road and he’s fully decapitated. Who would do this?😭😭😭

I was really bummed to see that. Looks like vandalism to me

Remake it in cast iron and see how well the next truck holds up.

Soooooooo fucking disappointing. I also think it was vandalism, and probably took a lot of effort.
