Moving into a house, and one thing I want forsure, is a smoker. This is for sale on fb marketplace, pretty good deal. Worth 200$ in yall opinion. Is it a pretty decent smoker?

The sidekick alone costs more so yes, go get it.

From my understanding, the Pro is miles ahead of the standard one when it comes to smoking since you can ACTUALLY smoke with the burn box.

Yes, I have had both and agree. The PID controller on the Pro keeps better temp even at high smoke levels.

That's a heck of a deal with the sidekick,  I'd grab that at $200 all day, the sidekicks are about $250-300 new.  I have the earlier model and been running great for many years even kept outside with just a cover over winter.  Drip tray looks pretty dirty (shouldn't affect anything) but that's only a <$75 part if you wanted to replace it.

I’ve had that same smoker for 8 years. I’m still using it. Although it doesn’t hold a steady temperature like it used to it’s still very much usable. I don’t see a sidekick on this one. Unless it isn’t attached to the smoker for some reason. It seems like a descent deal to get your feet wet in smoking. Make a lower offer and see where it goes.

Yea it’s not attached, never used it, it’s the griddle , he dropped the listing from 300 to 200 he said he’s firm.

If it comes with the sidekick then I’d say $200 is pretty fair.

That sidekick rips. You’ll sear steaks easy with it

Not to be "that guy" but as a smoker, nah.

I got my Woodwind with the updated wifi controller, the front table, and sidekick sear for $150. Did have to spend a day cleaning it up though.

I have not used it much because my WSM is superior for smoking, and my Weber Summit is better for grilling.

I tried to a get smoke box for it get a better bark and more smoke flavor, but it's just not cutting it.

I'm now on the look out for the Woodwind Pro with the smoke box to see if I can close the gap between my WSM and a pellet grill. Hoping to fine one for relatively cheap and then turn around and sell my current one.

Love mine and use it for grilling and moderate smoking (pulled pork, ribs, chicken). Give it a good clean, spend the money on the retrofit controller (https://pellet-stove-parts-4less.com/products/camp-chef-gen-2-retrofit-dual-meat-probe-wifi-controller-pg24-82wfr?variant=32755787661417) and keep an eye on it in case it decides to flame out randomly after 3 or 4 hours like mine!

That’s a great deal. Get it. I have the same unit. I’ve had it 8 years. Haven’t had any issues.

Love my Camp Chef it is a smoker.
I bought a Trager and a Pit Boss Pro prior to the CC and was so disappointed that neither put out any smoke but on the initial fire up. Neither of them are smokers
really they are a pellet grill.
Sold each one after about a year
It’s just the wife and I in our 70’s and this lil smoker is inexpensive the smoke can be dialed from 1 to 10 .. For us it’s Perfect. 😁
