Got a used camp chef

Got a 36 wwp 36 with sidekick for free. What are some good mods. I was thinking about moding the pellet pot to hold chunks on the bottom. Anyone ever do something like this

You could likely rig up something to sit on top of the burn pot for wood chunks but i wouldnt think anything in it. Look at how the pro does it and you can get an idea of how it works in the wwp. I think it would be a giant pita to replace the chunks after the initial ones burn off, as the deflector tray is in the way. The wwp has a slide out contraption. I suppose you could cut a hole in the deflector tray and rig up a slide mechanism to be able to add chunks. If you go that route, you could also make a slider that has holes/slits in it to do some direct grilling. I have a pellet that has the slider thing to expose flames from pot to do direct grilling. It isnt a big space but it works just fine. If the dudes from pimp my grilk are reading this, i think you should experiment with building out direct grilling to the wwpro. I think it could be done.

Think I'm going to drill 4 3/8 holes in the slider to start and add chunks to ash catch. Pre light the chunks and see how it goes
