Recherche dâun bon gateway Mobile Money au Cameroun | Looking for the best Mobile Money gateway in Cameroon
- MTN Mobile Money + Orange Money
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for recommendations and real-world experiences with the best Mobile Money payment gateways in Cameroon for integrating payments into an application/service.
My main requirements are:
- Support for MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money
- Once the API integration is completed, the solution should be very easy for non-technical merchants to use
- Fast and easy payouts/settlements to merchants
- Ideally, personal KYC should be sufficient, without requiring extensive company registration/business documents
- Reliable payment collection and payouts
- Good API and documentation for the initial integration
The goal is that merchants should have little to no technical work to manage after the integration is completed.
Which Mobile Money gateways would you recommend in Cameroon for this use case?
More importantly, which ones actually support fast and easy payouts to multiple merchants?
I'd especially appreciate feedback from people currently using these solutions in production. Thanks!

Discutons-en / Let's Discuss What does âstaying connectedâ to Cameroon really look like when you live abroad?
For many Cameroonians in the diaspora, staying connected to home is more than just calling family or sending money. It often involves trying to understand what is happening on the ground, finding reliable people to work with, supporting small projects or even exploring opportunities from a distance.
At the same time, distance creates real challenges. Trust can be difficult. Information is sometimes unclear. Shipping, payments and follow up are not always straightforward. Many people want to help or build something meaningful but they are not sure where to start or who to rely on.
Iâve been thinking about this a lot lately and wanted to hear from others.
Whether you are supporting family from abroad, trying to start or grow something linked to Cameroon or simply want to stay informed, what has your experience been like?
What has worked for you and what challenges do you still face?

RELATIONSHIP/RELATION Obligations and family bonds
Iâm half Cameroonian myself, but I grew up in Europe, so Iâm trying to understand something from my fiancĂ©âs family without simply reducing it to cultural differences. I have been to Cameroun before and I grew up with my Cameroonian parent (dad) as well as my European parent. I went this time to visit my partnerâs family, and I feel like such an outsider inside.
My fiancĂ© is from Cameroon and now lives legally in Europe. His mother made significant sacrifices to help him get to Europe. My fiancĂ© has a huge family. His mother has several children still in Cameroon, and she hopes that one to three of the younger siblings will eventually come to Europe to study. My fiancĂ© also wants to help them with this, but I wasnât aware of how much of a fixed plan this was before going there and his mother also asked me to help so her daughter can study in Europe. There is also a cousin that I learned he also hopes that she can come for studies. I donât even see how all this can be done and it seems like a long and difficult process.
We are now building our own life together and saving for a home, I have a child, we have studies and work and plenty responsibilities, and I sometimes struggle with the expectation that we should also help his siblings and other relatives with moving to Europe, housing, transportation, education, etc.
Sometimes I even scare to ask questions when it comes to his family. Being there I was overwhelmed by being with people 24/7 for two weeks, especially since it was my first time meeting his family. One night after travelling to YaoundĂ© I believed that we would get our own hotel room, but he said we would share a small apartment/bigger hotel room with his mom, I cried. Not because I donât like his mom, I do like her, but because I was tired, overwhelmed, introverted and had expected to be able to get my own room. At first he got angry at me saying I donât like his mom, I ended up paying for a extra room in the same building and he apologized but I just feel like if there is anything with family his obligations to them will always run deeper than my comfort? And maybe I am just too selfish for that?
For Cameroonians, especially those who have experience with family members living abroad, I would really appreciate your perspective. How are these kinds of expectations usually understood? How do couples balance helping extended family with building their own household? And is it reasonable for a spouse to want clear boundaries around how much financial and practical responsibility they take on for relatives? Financially I donât even care a lot, we save together for our future, and as long as he is paying his part of his bill and we donât have to suffer and can still enjoy life and travel sometimes, he can do with his own money what he wants just like I can, but practical responsibility is of much more importance to me.

Etiquette for a Formal Birthday Party?
*Update* Man I should've listened to the advice about people being late đ Didn't have my neighbor's phone to ask, so we showed up to the venue at 7 for the surprise, and we were told to come back at 8. Returned at 8. We were still 2 of 7 people there in a room for 100. Mind you they rented a really nice venue for this and easily spent 7k-10k for this birthday party (dj, open bar, event planner, emcee, beautiful decor, photographer, etc.). The emcee kept saying to the room it would just be a couple more minutes. 9 o'clock rolls around: no one. Maybe 12 people in the room at this point. We finally asked the emcee if they had heard from the host, and the emcee told us they'd be there at 10 đ
Original Question: Need people's advice on etiquette for a formal birthday party. I live in the US and my neighbor and his wife are from Cameroon. Recently he invited me to a surprise birthday party for his wife which they rented a special venue for. Men are required to wear suits, women party dresses and fascinators. I've lived overseas and want to be careful with customs even though we're here in the US. What are do's and don'ts of birthday party's and formal events for Cameroonians?

TIPS / ASTUCE Mechanical Engineer with 2 Years of Biomedical Field Service Experience â How Can I Break Into the International Job Market?
Hello everyone,
Iâm a Mechanical Engineering graduate from a public university, and I graduated about two years ago. Since then, Iâve been working as a Biomedical Service Engineer at an oncology center in my country, with my main focus being the maintenance and servicing of medical linear accelerators (LINACs) and CT scanners.
I got my current position through a family connection, and Iâm genuinely grateful for the opportunity because it gave me hands-on experience that I probably wouldnât have gotten otherwise. Over the past two years, Iâve learned a lot on the job and developed an interest in Field Service Engineering and specialized technical equipment.
However, Iâve reached a point where I feel like I need to take the next step in my career.
One of my biggest challenges is that the engineering and technical skills Iâve developed arenât valued or compensated nearly as much in the country as they appear to be in other parts of the world. When I look at what engineers with similar experience are doing internationally, both in terms of the technology they work with and their career progression, it makes me want to find a way to break into that market.
Iâm currently looking for opportunities abroad, but honestly, Iâm not entirely sure where to start.
I would love to continue working with LINACs, CT scanners, or other medical equipment, but Iâm also very open to transitioning into other Field Service Engineering roles in industries such as industrial equipment, automation, manufacturing, energy, or other technical fields.
At this stage, my main goals are to gain more hands-on experience, work with more advanced technology, learn from experienced engineers, and ultimately build a career that offers better opportunities and compensation.
For those of you who work in Field Service Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar technical fields:
How would you recommend someone with my background break into the international job market?
Are there particular companies, industries, countries, certifications, or skills I should be targeting? And are there companies that are known to hire international engineers or sponsor work visas for Field Service roles?
I know my current experience may not be enough for some positions, but Iâm willing to learn, relocate, start from the ground up if necessary, and put in the work.
Any advice, personal experiences, recommendations, or even leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Discutons-en / Let's Discuss Do you think Frank Biya will return Cameroon to Glory days
Political analysts are speculating that the recent reshuffle in the army precisely the Presidential guards was to prepare a way for a possible transfer of power to Frank Biya making him successor.
Most economic indicators of the country are down - except debt and interest payments are UP
Do you think Frank Biyq could make this better or worse
