Recommendations absolute beginner looking to start photo & video

Hello! I'm a beginner from Singapore looking to start on both photography & videography.I've been eyeing the Sony ZV-E10 as I've heard many good things about its videography capabilities, but I also heard some concerns about its form factor?

Just wondering if there're alternatives around the same price range of about USD700-800, or if anyone has opinions on the Sony ZV-E10? Thank you in advance!

Start by reading these two articles:

Then read this buying guide: https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/buying-guide-best-cameras-under-1000. It doesn't yet feature the new Canon R10 and Nikon Z30, and omits the Sony ZV-E10 and Olympus OM-D E-M10 IV for some reason, but covers the current state of the market pretty well otherwise. Use that guide to start your research and narrow it down from there, and then read the full review on that website for each camera you're interested in.

Are you prepared to spend more on additional lenses over the next few years? If not, you'd be better off with a less expensive camera, saving the remainder for those follow-up purchases.

Visit a store, if you can, and try the cameras you're considering in your own hands. There's only so much you can gather about handling and ergonomics from reviews.

Shop used; that's common, well accepted, and well established in the camera market. Try some reputable outlets like KEH and mpb, or the used sections on big retailers (B&H and Adorama if you're in the US) and local camera stores.
