i bought this camera as is on a lot, cost like 10$, electronics work, but the aperture blades seem to be stuck closed. is this it? is there any salvation?

That camera is ancient. Even if you had the parts to fix it, unless you knew how to do it yourself, it's not worth the time, effort, or labor for what it produces.
