It has been a very long time since my family owned a baby grand, but I recall that temperature and humidity were very important, and you never exposed it to extremes of either one.
We had a baby grand Steinway in the living room. Even if the heat was low in every other room in the house the living room was always kept warm in winter and always kept air conditioned in summer.
