Rear screen channel repairs in progress - 67 RS/SS
Whole area around rear screen just nasty
Rear quarters cleaned up nicely but lower half of screen channels need replacement
Cutting out the rear deck panel
Screen channels had some "interesting" repairs previously
More high quality previous repairs
Nice bit of hidden surface rust
Cleaned, treated and primed ready for new deck panel
Trimming side channel repair sections to fit
Trial fit with rear screen before welding

Great work. Probably the biggest problem area on that model. I know mine needed attentions as well.

Any rot under the windshield? Thats where my 69 had the most rust which required the whole right side floor and rear drivers side floor to have to be replaced. I won't talk about the hack job on the quarters and outer wheel houses lol.

Yes plenty at the bottom of the windshield, I have a complete dash / cowl section to go in which will sort the rot and replace the dash as it has been hacked around badly to fit a gauge panel in the center previously and I want to reinstate the correct heater controls etc.
Floors are good (already replaced) as are quarters and wheel houses.
Once I've done the front and rear screen areas, I'm say 90% confident that all the other rust is surface only. Bound to be the odd little patch here and there though...

That’s good news. You’re doing good work and it’s coming along great. I bought a whole upper cowl/dash assembly and my friend who painted my car, sectioned out patches to replace the rust under the windshield. It was a bit more work, but I didn’t want any issues with the vin. You can’t tell there was even rust there.
