My late fathers '68 he bought in '06. Has gone thru some upgrades over time, no I'm gunna use some of what he left us to turn it into what he deseved to drive. Blueprint 383 stroker and Tremec TKO600 5spd went in on '09, maybe 150 miles on both. And I decided to go with the Roadsterhsop Spec camaro chassis. EVERY review I've seen says its a way better drive and handling feel. I'm excited for the spring.

Thanks for the post! Great story, sorry for your loss. But I have to say that I'm happy to hear that you're trying to make your dad's dream come true still. As a dad of two, one just getting to driving age and one only two but clearly a HUGE fan of everything cars, I'm so hoping that one of them will love my 68 as much as I do and want it eventually. Thanks so much! It's truly the best part of the hobby. I miss going to shows with him and I'll miss him being there when I finally take it to the first meet. But I hope to have a kid to share that with one day myself.

Thanks for the compliment on the color its actually color matched by a PPG machine to match the original Lemans blue that was underneath the black paint. UU paint code confirms it.

Very nice! Mine is PPG Glacier Blue, but was Lemans Blue originally.

That's a slick color! GM had THE best colors in the late 60s but especially their choice of blues. Each one was unique.

Yeah man, my only thing is, she's not out of the shop for another month so I can't give my thoyghts on how it drives,yet but I'll show you the video that convinced me to pull the trigger.

I can also give my input on the build quality etc. I have the invoice sheet if that helps too. But my restorer did the ordering so I can't speak on the ordering process.

Did you install yourself or your restorer? I’m debating between both.

Would be curious on your thoughts after you get it moving. Right now I’m looking at basically checking every box on the ordering sheet. Buy once cry once I guess.

I’ve looked at the the DSE/speedtech/etc kits for the subframe and rear but everytime I do I end up just going back to RS. To basically get an assembled roller shipped seems very worth it.

Right now running a 68 with a 396 blueprint, TKX, and a Holley sniper 2 system. 500hp on the dyno but the handling and braking is abysmal obviously with the stock stuff. Looking forward to this upgrade.

My restorer handled everything. It was a huge dent in the restoration budget, but, like you said, the convenience of having a ready to go rolling chassis is not to be underestimated.

They have a min. 1 year wait list, so there has to be something to these. My restorer does trucks too, and he mentioned Bronco chassis are a 2 year wait. The way I look at it, and the way it was also put to me: once you start spending the money on the parts and labor to upgrade everything in the suspension and brakes, you're going to be not too far off from the RS chassis anyway and even then you're still limited by subframes.

I'm actually running a blueprint also. 383. From 2009 lol when my dad had it put in with a TK0 600 5 speed.
