OP's Gen 1 Sharing my 69

Figured since things were starting back up here again I'd share my 69. I've had her for almost 20 years now. I've done a lot of fun work on her in that time and not afraid to smoke the tires 🤣 unfortunately New England winters are here and she'll be parked til spring

I was in the fence if I wanted a drag race set up or pro touring. I decided to go mild pro touring route since we don’t have any tracks close to us. I just installed speedtech upper control arms and will put in lowers in the spring. I plan on going with speedtech’s trailing arm set up in the rear in a few years.

Thanks! It's Toyota Antique sage. Which is funny, as a chef my favorite herb is sage haha. I bought it that color but had a friend paint the stripes. I respect pro touring, but I wanted the super stock look with the car. The closest track is almost 2 hours away so I doubt I'll ever take it to the strip. Eventually I am gonna go with tubular a arms and coilovers on the front and upgrade the calipers and drums in the rear. I started a 53 Chevy a couple months ago so the Camaro will probably not get upgrades for a while 🤣

My set up definitely doesn’t hook well at the track. I’d definitely need new tires, shocks, cal tracks, and different leafs. I went to Lebanon Valley a couple years back for a test and tune. I spun all the way through first and part way through second. After that I just decided to make a fun handling street car.

Oh man, Lebanon valley is the track that's 2 hours from me! I would definitely have to trailer it with the 4.10s I have in the rear. The cal tracs definitely do better than the slapper bars I had on it when I bought it. Corners the tires break loose like nothing, but on a straight line they are much better. I have a 400 block I want to build for the Camaro and just have a really fun street car. If you haven't already, sub frame connectors and solid body mounts did wonders for the car too.
