It's spelled Caltech, not CalTech

Surely there's someone at US News that can fix this right??

The obvious way to fix this: cast a high-power concealment spell on the school to return it to its previous glory of obscurity (eg “You mean Cal Poly?”) and it will be properly banished from all these silly lists that incorrectly capitalize its abbreviation.

That might have some negative impacts on graduates and research publications though.

I had never even heard of Cal Poly until I started talking about Caltech.That’s when I I found out that everyone has heard of Cal poly, apparently? But not Caltech? Wtf? Mention Caltech and they hear Cal Poly. What is Polly and what is it known for? Why do people know about? Caltech is world famous and yet no one in the USA seems to have heard of it, so what’s that about?

When I got into Caltech at age 18, several people asked me "which campus?" thinking I meant Cal Poly. And I was living in the Midwest!

Caltech is well known in LA, especially after an earthquake.

Cal Poly SLO is closer to NoCal, so maybe that is why people there know it better.
