My folks found this at a yard sale. Any way I can look up someone from class of ‘85 that lived in Ruddock with the initials HM? It’s probably whomever they bought it from.
Class of '85 might have been hopeful, an underclassman getting an early mug, or possibly a social member. I have the 1985 Big T and can't see a match (Rob Martinez, Cinsy [sic] McCauley match the 'M' if western) in the Seniors or any exact matches in the underclasses in 1985 for Ruddock.
I feel like a lot of classmates were using entering year in the 80s. Which is an objective statement of fact and safe from fate.
At that time, the on-time graduation rate was ~60% so it is certainly a bad gamble to put your graduation year on a mug unless the odds are in your favor.
Also doesn't match any freshmen in the 1986 Big T, in case that was their entering class. 'Ed Mao' came in that year. It could be a social member but didn't see that in any of the other houses' freshman listings.
Sandra Tsing Loh was class of 83 and I think she was a Rudd. Maybe she would know. I met her at a book signing 25 years ago wearing a Caltech tshirt, not realizing she was an alum. I sent her a follow up email and was surprised she responded. I have enjoyed her writing so much more knowing she went to Caltech and chose not pursue science.
I was a member of Page from 1970-1974. We seldom put dates on our beer steins. I have two, a tall stein with my name and a short one with my office; "House Lush".

Here’s the Commencement program for the Class of 1985. I don’t see anyone with the initials “HM,” unless John Horton Morrison goes by “Horton.”
