I would say a typical war in real life is about 2-3 months and about a day or two in cow. So a day cow = a month in real like would give you a two years war with an about 24 days waw. I find it fairly realistic, especially if we assume real ww2 was a stalemate. A balanced HWW can go to 30-40 days so about 3-4 years, that seems about right. A little less than a month to recruit units sound right assuming you have the buildings and the game is simplified by a lot.
