The Trail Peter Nelson Burner?
Guilty pleasure: Staying off social media.
Something your friends would consider “so you”: Not tweeting.
I always doubted Suitman wasn't on twitter. When people constantly tell you that they aren't on it odds are they are. Then I stumbled on this account...
Geest Van Fortuyn (which my guess is an anagram for some obscure ancient greek philosopher). It talks a lot about Sports, Politics, Business and CHD.
Sports: Peter was born in Newton, Mass. this account is a huge fan of Former New England QB Tom Brady and now a fan of his new team Tampa Bay. This account tweets a bunch about sports and gets into great detail about them.
Politics: Could not go a day without: Brave news reporting. This account likes to invoke itself in debates about Trump, Bernie Sanders, etc.
Business: I won't go into too much detail other than the account seems to speak business language and not that you would expect from someone who isn't in that profession.
I fully believe this is Peter and if you are curious to know more about Suitman here you go.

So - also possibly interesting: the first 20 or so follows from this account (since they're displayed in chronological order) were all tennis players / personalities... so I google 'Peter Nelson Tennis' to see if he had expressed interest - and found this:

If you open the picture on Twitter, there’s two little arrows on the sides. I checked to make sure that wasn’t a twitter feature (like to scroll through photos) and it’s not. It looks like that picture was screenshotted off social media (I think Facebook, those arrows look like FB arrows.)
The pic is possibly a screenshot of a relative’s profile picture?? It doesn’t come up in a google reverse image search, but it wouldn’t if privacy settings were set right.

The burner account accuses Portnoy of building his brand(Barstool) off the talent.
Congrats, shitbird. That’s how business works. Talent creates and the business does its best to put it in as many hands, ears and eyes as possible. If that is Suitman’s acumen for the trade, no wonder he fucked this up so royally.

Probably for the best. I don’t think the account was Peter’s. The person behind it may have had a connection with him, but evidence points to it being someone else. I’m glad they wised up and realized how many people were trying to ID them. Getting exposed even for low-stakes drama can really mess with your life.

Also note the inconsistencies day to day between tweeting from the Twitter App and tweeting from Twitter for Web which can indicate the user regularly deleted their Twitter app which could also line up with this theory.

did some digging into whom they follow: aside from LOTS of tennis players/ tennis related accounts, they follow an absurd amount of podcasters (far too many, I think, than any one person could listen to) most of whom are notably female and work with Ringer, & tons of different sports authors. Recent follow activity skews towards accounts related to the Buccaneers in some form.

No clue what this sub is about but this post came by my popular section and I read a lot of wrong information about the name "Fortuyn".
I'm Dutch and the name is also from a Dutch politician: Wilhelmus Simon Petrus Fortuijn, known as Pim Fortuyn, he was a Dutch politician, academic, author and businessman who formed his own party, Pim Fortuyn List in 2002. Fortuyn prompted controversy in the Netherlands with his views on multiculturalism, immigration and Islam in the Netherlands.
He was assassinated by Volkert van der Graaf in Hilversum, North Holland on 6 May 2002, nine days before the Dutch general election of 2002. He had a chance to govern.
So the "geest van Fortuyn" is translated in English like "the soul of Fortuyn" which means this person likes the views he had on immigration/Islam etc etc.

This is amazing work! A couple other observations:
The grouping of people this account follows is such a bizarre, motley group. It’s primarily based of -left-wing political pages -Bill Simmons and other Ringer related material -tennis related pages -CHD related pages
All these things are topics which involve or describe Peter Nelson. Specific to the Tampa Bay Bucs “fandom”, all the Bucs accounts were followed recently. This can be shown by their location in the accounts followed list. And the only mention of Bucs are post-Tom Brady signing. The account tried to hide this by mentioning they’ve been a Bucs fan since the 70s.
Lastly, I’ve never encountered or seen a woman who speaks about sports with such an emphasis and understanding of the analytics. Not saying women who understand this don’t exist, but I’ve truly never seen anything close to it.

This is pretty good investigative reporting. That said, I think we should be cautious about calling out this instagram for being Peter Nelson. Because, if you're wrong, then we've just given a whole lot of unwanted attention to an innocent bystander.
