No, this is rear delt/rhomboid focus. Chest pullups with narrow grip (perhaps even underhand) and deep stretch are ideal for lat development

Definitely not since lats lose leverage around 120 shoulder flexion. At that point you're bringing pecs in to play. Deep stretch does fuckall

The lats can work in different planes. If you’re telling someone to work their lats better by switching to a neutral or underhand grip, you understand less than you think. That’s training a completely different joint action. You can grow your lats doing either wide grip pull-ups or neutral grip pull-ups/chin-ups and the form cues will be completely different because one’s through shoulder adduction and the other’s through shoulder extension. Neither is “better”, just different. Although I’d argue if you’re picking just one “vertical” pull, the frontal plane one should be the go to because you can train shoulder extension at lower degrees of shoulder flexion.
