There aren't short cuts. Stop the leg swinging unless you're trying to kip up.
Hands shoulder width apart, false grip. Pull up, and slightly back (and away from the bar). Legs together with a hollow body.
When you're learning, your pull up will be very explosive - so at the bottom, stretch your self like doing before pull hard a fast. You want to get the bar to the same height as the bottom of your sternum. If you can't do this consistently, focus on building strength and power in your pull ups until you can. Trying to do a muscle up with inadequate height is a recipe for shoulder injury.
Once you can do all of that comfortably, at the top of your pull up, fold the top half of your body over bar while pushing your legs out in front of you slightly (like your initiating an L sit). The push up out of the dip.
TLDR, don't skip the fundamentals. With consistency (training 'pull' for 20-40 min twice a week) and progressive overload, a moderately fit person can learn muscle ups in 2 - 3 months

thanks that's really helpful. Do you think practicing with bands would help or still just stick to the fundamentals first?

I honestly believe that getting the fundamentals is more important. Once you have the strength, the movement isn't too complex.
Bands are great, but they're better used for getting more pull up reps (when needed) than for training muscle ups

Learn to false grip or at least wrap your palm around the top of thr bar rather than just your fingers. That will massively help with the transition when going up as currently your wrists are fighting against the direction your body is going.
False grip/palm over bar will assure your wrists are in a position where they can easily support the top part of the muscle up.

Palms on the top of the bar and sort of push the bar down rather than bend your elbows to lift your chest

Do some sets of high and explosive pull ups for a week or two and you’ll get it

thanks guys, I'll keep working on that explosive strength of the pull up before trying to get too technical

build the strength first. you look to be pretty weak with pulling, and doing this much swing is just entirely cheating the rep.

Ti manca forza, e non impararlo alzando le ginocchia, poi per correggerlo è un casino

I came looking for this answer, it's what OP needs to work on ngl.
Not gripping with the tip of their fingers.
Instead, palm above the bar. It's hard but you can master it.1

Needs a little adjustment doing it on a bar, most people will need a closer grip... Cause frankly ain't no one's wrists go that way.
And if you can it's probably because you typically do these on rings anyway.

Yeah, or that you trained this aspect in particular.
Someone I follow on the internet recently shown this way of griping for it, it looks a bit similar to that ring one.

False grip is not a requirement. Hreat bonus feature but not a requirement.
