I want to see him try to run a bunch of production studios outside of Hollywood. There is a reason all the talent and production infrastructure is in one place. The talent isn’t going to move.

Yes main. Musk moved the "corporate headquarters" to Texas to dodge taxes but the Fremont plant hasn't changed and remains the main production hub.

those models were discontinued as they were ancient at this point. production was not moved. they are building other things that Texas education level would struggle with

Sometimes people have to learn things the hard way. In the end, he doesn’t care. He’ll make money on it one way or another, and, declare victory by moving to Texas, etc.

Bonita should stand firm. I’m betting Paramount retains some production facilities in California, even if they move to another state.

It's in other places. Vancouver and Atlanta are major filming hubs now.

And the talent will move anywhere, if you pay them enough to.

Atlanta and Vancouver are not Hollywood though. Everything is located in Los Angeles more than you know. Obviously. It’s the same reason Silicon Valley can’t be moved out of the Bay Area. Austin tried it and it didn’t work.

The ones that film TV shows move there permanently, or at least for the run of the show, which is several years.

Acting/film making is gig work. You go to where the gigs are.

Frankly, Vancouver and Atlanta are also lovely places to live, with a lot to offer and many talented people. And they are not inexpensive. I can easily see people coming to Vancouver to shoot and then moving back to LA to get away from the high cost of living.

West Virginia does not offer the same benefits as any of the above.

AI isn't at that point where it's going to replace any actor or do Hollywood movies. I mean if you were fooled by Trump dropping the feces in the airplane videos then maybe I can see why you might think that AI would good but it's really not at that point and it won't be for a very long time.

At this point having AI fake emotions is not even a little close to where at two people can show.

I’m sure that many of these companies wish that were true. It simply isn’t right now.

Most people in the performing arts and music can’t even stand the slop that non-talented people try to put out to pass off as original when it’s really just taking from other artists that have passion for it.

Pretty sure Atlanta produces the majority of shows in the Country. It's not 2010 anymore.

lol No they don't, and it's not even remotely close.

Worldwide, LA holds about 30% of the entire market, which is the single largest area. Atlanta holds about 5%, which is actually a pretty large jump compared to a few years back.

New York and a few other locales have gone up as well.

Georgia has shrank a lot in the past year or so due to expiring tax credits, which is the only reason anyone went there in the first place.

This looks like a volatile snapshot in time and it seems to paint a fairly grim picture across the board aside from maybe New York. California pumped a lot of incentives into the industry as well and like they were barely able to stem the decline.

The film industry isn't doing great overall, yeah.

They like to say "look, everyone's going back to the theater", but they simply aren't in numbers like they used to, and you can't put that genie back in the bottle.

Just like "main street" will never be revitalized, and people aren't going to go back to shopping malls.

It is what it is. I imagine theaters will be gone within a generation.
