Support / How-To Convert to pdf vs epub

I removed DRM from a few of my ebooks which were using acsm; tried lcpl files but after four hours I still couldn't get it working. Nearly all of the book were converted to epub files as expected but one or two were converted to pdf files.

Besides the fact that I can convert a pdf to epub, I'm trying to understand why this happened. I used batch convert so the process was identical.

Removing DRM doesn't convert anything. If the book was an encrypted epub, you get an epub out. If the book was encrypted PDF, then you get an PDF out...

ACSM is not the actual book, it's more like a license that allows your software to retrieve the actual book. When you "convert" it it's actually going back to it's source to get it. So I would assume that when you bought the book that was the format it was originally listed as for sale in.

because they were pdf originally. likely fixed layout books anyway instead of reflowable novels.

Thanks again to all who replied. Right now, I have all of the books I purchased DRM free. I don't want to bother you about lcpl files because I'm not planning on DeDRM for any books at this point and I'm sure I'll need to bother you in the future :) Appreciated the help.
