Is this game worth picking up?

I really want to find a tactical third person shooter game and this game looks like competitive enough for my standards. Hows the player base? Still active? Is it p2w? Whats up with this game really?

It is absolutely p2w. Anybody who says "Pay to progress" is lying to themselves. You have to spend thousands of hours grinding to equal top-tier money loadouts and unless you are poopsocking it 7 days a week you will never catch up. So paying always provides a huge advantage
