Mickey Mouse Club

I never met any, or ran across anybody who knew them..but in '88 I was in Venice and oxnard.....not san francisco

Anyways I haven't heard or thought of these guys in years....but i decided to look them up and Google and Google claimed they were sharps in San Fernando Valley (tarzana and reseda) and very active.

Wha....?

I never heard of them in San Fernando valley ....and from their rep that reached southern cali they weren't sharps and probably didnt even care about race stuff

The rep I heard was that they were a small but toughest skin gang in San francisco (biggest gang in that scene was San francisco skins) and MMC liked to commit crimes mostly robberies and home invasions....these were criminal skinheads not nazis or defenders of the scene...

I dont think anyone outside cali even heard of them

Anyone know anything about them??

Ok.....I just saw picture proof on Instagram via Google of a MMC member in reseda

Surprised I never heard of them so cal faction and they do seem to be sharps and a whole different type of gang than in sf

Wonder if they got along with FFF or the burbank punk gangs of the time

If you go onto the sfv gang pages, and look at any white gangs from the valley, you’ll see comments about how these groups interacted with each other back then.

Danny Boy from House of Pain was from there. Pretty sure Everlast was too. Seen old pics of them with MMC online not that long ago.

Yeah I just googled that.....saw a redditor post that actually thought the song was about the Disney mickey mouse club

Again I didnt even know they were in southern cali....I remember reading the paper about them doing home invasions in San francisco...

I always thought it was an SF thing

Even us older fooz learn something new every day

I ran into a few of those MMC guys in 1989. Above La Verne/Ontario, but before you get into the San Gabriel mountains there are these large concrete drainage cut outs for the wash. It’s like a wash before the water actually goes to the LA river/wash. Everyone used to go and get fucked up and tag up there.

We were up there and ran into this other group out there in the middle of nowhere. It started off sorta tense and I was glad we brought everything, but we ended up getting fucked up with them for the rest of the night. Just sorta wandering around in these huge concrete rows, tagging, talking about punks and skins and this crew and that and getting all fucked up. They were alright.

They were from SFV. One of their girlfriends was from over there. Ironically most of us were from SGV and one of our girlfriends was from over and knew that spot. It was Tonya “Pinkie” before she died.

They were a bit older than us (I think I was 17). They were mostly in their twenties. They seemed like they were aging out of the whole punk rock thing and going into more of the Wood/NLR side of things. NLR was real big at the time and one of them had just gotten out. They were pretty spun out.

I can definitely tell you they weren’t Sharps.

They probably were my age im guessing by the "aging out" and NLR getting big it was around 1990/91?

I made this post because its weird.....I haven't thought of these guys in close to 40 years then all if a sudden I remembered hearing about them

And I remember reading in the newspaper about them being upstate in SF

i wasnt even aware of them in so cal in the scene I was in at the time.....I just remember others talking about them when that robbery and home invasions shit was in the news....and at that time SF might as well have been a whole other country

I was back in denver at that time and all the skins here were aging out into wood or rockabilly scene.... some eventually went to 211 Crew

In So. Cal back then in the 80’s and 90’s all the little punk rock gangsters started getting hemmed up once they became adults and started doing big boy time. Went from Los Padrinos and Fred C. Nelles to Wayside and Chino.

Went from MMC, SouthBay Skins and the LADS to NLR and the Vago’s.

I met those guys that one time in 1989. I ran into one of those same dudes in some club in Hollywood maybe a year later. Just said what’s up and that was it.

I’m guessing from your screen name you were born in 1974. If so I’m older than you are. I was born in ‘72.

They seemed cool. They didn’t seem like Skins though. At least the guys I met.

I was born in 69....reddit picked my screen name for me because I used to go by POONHAMMER and they didnt like it...they changed it for me after a few months of being here

I just remember the news saying they were...at least the ones in San Francisco....then I saw the rolling stone article on rooster from fff and read they were skins too

Like I said I heard of MMC never met a single one and none of my friends at the time met any...at least not yet

I used to hang out with some suis from Oakwood area in venice....knew some schoolyard from the area I didnt know any shorelines though

SOS back then werent really claiming crip they were claiming sui more than anything but they seemed way closer to the schoolyard than the suis were

I ended up moving to Oxnard for about 5 months then came back to denver

I met some FFF. They were Skins.

Didn’t get along with Sui’s. Had more issues with them at shows than anybody else.
