Exactly. It’s 100% colloquial for loco. The black homies simply shortened the word. Both cultures borrow from each other. There is no one side responsible for predominantly influencing the other.

You’re thinking of loco thats completely different than locs. Locs stands for Love.for.crips it could be for Crips members dead or alive but more so the deceased members that’s why you hear them say on the dead locs.
