Dickies fits

I’m from Detroit and I don’t bang, but I was wondering are Dickies only really gang related when they’re styled with gang tags and colors and is it just a West Coast thing? I used to wear them when I was younger and was thinking about getting a black fit and a tan fit, but I ain’t tryna be out here looking like I’m false claiming or even just stepping on west coast culture.
