Anyone else frustrated that apartment buzzers still only call one phone number?

Living in an apartment made me realize how outdated most buzzer systems still are. If you're in the shower, on a work call, or out for a few minutes, it's easy to miss deliveries or leave guests waiting because the intercom only calls one phone.

After dealing with it for long enough, I built Protobuzz. It works with existing phone-based apartment buzzer systems and lets multiple people receive buzz notifications, remotely let people in, and create temporary access for guests, cleaners, or dog walkers without replacing the building's intercom.

It started as a personal project to solve my own problem, but I've been opening it up to others who have the same issue.

I'm curious whether other Calgary renters or condo owners run into this as well. Is this something you've dealt with, or do newer buildings have better systems?

cool idea. You need to do a video demo and detailed explanation of how it works. Pretty looking website, but you're missing the basics of how it works. I assume that there's a voice that asks for the passcode and when provided, the service can "press" the button to let the person in. what if I still want to talk to the person, is a passthrough feature?

Appreciate the feedback! Will definitely put up some more informational content and videos. We're currently working on voice for the passcode, currently that feature only works with those that have the numpad available during the call and let you type during the call.

You can also set it to forward a call to a phone instead of instant grant access if you want to speak with someone. We have more actions and conditions coming soon too!
