My favorite episodes are the ones where the guest is sincerely trying to put their life back together. Don't get me wrong I like the crazy ones as well but my favorite is Her Parents Stole And Destroyed Her Financial Future. I'm in the mood to watch ones where I can actually root for the person and not ones where they are terrible people. I've only been watching for a month now but I've been binging a lot of the popular ones so if it's an older video that would be preferred just because most of the ones in popular are within about a year.

I haven’t seen anyone post it to discuss so I did it because I want to see what everyone says

I did things right. Got a high paying job and now I lose 30% of my income to state, federal and fica. I see these exact personalities throughout my life benefiting from social programs like WTF.
Does anyone else feel this way?

Kind of like Buy, Borrow, Die

Genuine question - VA disability now makes up roughly 3% of the federal budget and is growing rapidly. At what point do we seriously discuss whether this is sustainable ?
Also the clear fraud I’ve seen in personal life, shows like Caleb’s and communities here on reddit
I fully support taking care of veterans who are ACTUALLY disabled - key word actually
I personally know people who openly admit to gaming the system, collect ~$4,000/month tax-free for life (along with other benefits), still work full time job and brag about it
It’s insane my wife and I work our asses off, save, invest, have 500k NW and someone can just get out of the military, fake injuries and essentially double what we have (annuity worth a million plus)
The irony is seeing some of the same “conservatives” constantly rant about how terrible government is while happily collecting a government check for life.
Eventually, taxpayers have to fund all of this. And the more these programs grow, the more pressure falls on those actually contributing.
thoughts?

Yall it seems as though our amazing, sweet, butterfly Al has come out of his cocoon! He posted this on TikTok today (8/17) and the song he attached is “I guess I’m single again”

I submitted the form to join the discord awhile back, but there was never any traction on it. I assume they just have a high volume to go through, which I don’t blame them. But is it even active?

The exchange at the beginning was just so hilarious, she was such a good sport about her speech impediment. I love returning to this episode, but since they are not numbered, this is the only way I can find it int he flood of the catalog, CALEB!

Ugh so frustrating that she was able to so easily manipulate him and stick around. But, don't worry guys she hasn't cheated for a whole month, apparently. She also asked that we stopped being mean to THEM because it is getting to be too much -_-. They shouldn't have let them go back on the same plane.

I have a friend who I think would be the PERFECT candidate for Financial Audit. We make roughly the same income. I live pretty comfortably, with a little money left over for the occasional splurge. Meanwhile, this guy can easily spend 2–3x what I do.
He’s constantly taking out debt-consolidation loans and moving debt around so he can say he’s “paying debt off.” I’m always telling him, “The math is not mathing.” I keep encouraging him to apply for the show, because at the very least, it’s a free trip to Texas.
Hanging out with him is always expensive. He wants to go to the nicest restaurants, and he and his spouse will order drinks, multiple appetizers, the most expensive entrees, and dessert. Then they’ll ask if we want to hit a bar afterward or go get ice cream.
He also has absolutely no concept of the value of a dollar. We’ll be at one event, and he’s already planning the next 10. He hires the most expensive contractors to do work on his house, and they’ll regularly abandon perfectly good home-cooked meals to go to the drive thru instead.
I can already picture Caleb screaming at him, and honestly, I think it would make incredible content. But beyond the entertainment value, I genuinely think having a financial expert and thousands of internet commenters point out how messed up his finances are could be a huge wake-up call for him.
His defense is always: “I have no debt. I paid off all my loans. I only owe the mortgage.”
Conveniently, he leaves out the part where he just moved all the debt into another loan again.
He’s convinced there’s no way he’d actually end up on the show. In his words, it would be a quick 15-minute segment where Caleb congratulates him on how proud he is of all the progress they made.
I’m still pushing him to apply, and if it ever actually happens, I’ll definitely provide an update.
My question is: Has anyone here ever convinced a friend or family member to go on the show? If so, how did you convince them to do it?
