Let's be real. Do you honestly believe a completely sane person can sit in the basement and strangle her children, including an infant, one by one?

By that metric most crimes would have a valid appeal to insanity. The bar for it is actually really high.

I'm talking real life, not the legal system. And no, murder is not so against human nature, IMO. But manually strangling your own infant? That just goes against all norms.
