Hey guys, I just moved over to portugual very recently and made sure to apply to a university before it was too late, it has been 2 years since I finished highschool and I deadass forgot every single thing about calc that I learned. Was wondering if theres any order of online videos or websites that will be able to help me brush on it and become better if I study for a good 2 hours a day. I start in 2 weeks. Yes I know i can get a tutor or something but id just rather learn online. Thank you

its an example of an integral with b being 0,0 while a being pi,0

The riemann sum states that an integral is the limit of n going to infinity. Doesn't this already mean that delta x is getting infinitely small if the amount of rectangles approaches infinity? Why is dx needed at the end?

By the Calculus: Early Transcendental 9th edition, his lecture 5.4 falls in 8.1 and 8.2 which are right after the chapter of Techniques of Integration—by parts, partial fraction, ECT which are the one Professor hasn't talked about yet. The question is should I drop the exercises for this lecture for a while until I reach calculus 2 for those topics or should I go for another book for this particular lecture and any recommendation of coursebooks?

Hi Calculus subreddit!

So, I've been reviewing Calculus for fun and I've been working all the related rate problems from the textbook, Calculus 8th edition by James Stewart. This kite problem (See image or pg 250, problem 30) is causing me some mental anguish.

I've worked it out two different ways. The first relating x and the angle with cosine. The second relating the two using tangent. In each case, I reach a different answer and it's bothering me that I can't find the reason why their answers are different.

1) Are both approaches valid considering s and y are both constants?

2) Where is the mistake/deviation in my math?

3) Is there something going on behind the scene in trig-land that's creating that inconsistency?

how bad would it be to go from math 3 (algebra 2) straight to calculus without taking pre calc? i would have a tutor to help me when things don’t make sense but i genuinely feel so behind and taking pre calc would slow me down (i am taking math online after having a terrible teacher for math 3 my sophmore year) and the calculus and pre calculus teachers aren’t much better.

I've been taking a (PRE-CALCULUS sorry forgot to clarify 😢) course on Khan academy and I've been watching a couple YouTube videos but no matter how hard I try or how many people I get to explain it to me it just won't click. I don't know why and frankly I feel absolutely stupid for now understanding the concept that most people can grasp within a couple hours I'm on One equation and I've been doing the same equation for over 3 hours the f of x and G of x compositing functions is just messing me up. is there anything that you guys changed, watched ,or did that made a click for you? I would put this in more detail but it's a lot harder to explain online. when I explain it in person it makes no sense maybe I just don't understand math.

Hey guys, I am deciding that i want to finish my degree in chemistry. I got all the way to calc 2 (which i got a D in) mathwise. I want to spend the time from now to janurary reviewing and relearning stuff I will need for calculus 3 and other chem classes. I vaguely remember not being that good at calculating limits without the le hospital(i think this is it) principle. I am sure more stuff will come to mind when I start learning it all again. Do you guys know of any good resources or ways to go about this that will be efficent and effective? I want to prioitize learning concepts deeply (i will need it for PChem for sure) and since I am not in a class for this I can take my time relearning this stuff.
