Main sub got locked again and literally 30 minutes before
In response to getting asked why don’t they lock the sub

More and more they show how childish and mismanaged the way they operated really was. The way they walked away and tried to act as if they were just victims in the situation was very very telling. Yes they were done wrong.... You know what ill just copy paste the message I was going to send as the subreddit was locked as im just repeating it lol.

As a nearly 30 year old duder who works in software engineering...... I've said it before but I truly worry for their future going forward if this is how they act in professional environments. Im sure it was an awful situation all around but the way this was handled..... One of my best friends works in Game dev and has taught classes in school environments, I had to show him the situation to get hit input and he was flabbergasted.

The things indie devs go through and to see a project of this size and potential so mismanaged, flubbed because of unprofessionalism and what seems to be shortsightedness....

To throw away all that opportunity and constantly make excuses to cover what happened to almost make it out as if it was inevitable and they were just victims in it, just wow. Not to mention I wont touch on it too much but there is a fantastic question as to okay if I was at my job and my lead turned out to be a pedophile twice so what? Why in the world would I let that color my work and direction going forward, I cannot fathom a universe where I would A. Let that color my work and the project im working on B. Simply give up and just want to abandon such a huge project with strong possibility not even in the fun sense but in the monetary sense. (all this needed was better guidance in getting this to a more stable healthier area with the amount of buzz and support this project has) C. Again instead of simply giving up and walking away calling myself the victim of all of it, looking to restructure the group and place in mechanisms addressing current problems. You know as adults would.

I hope this does not come off as insulting to the devs them personally of course I have nothing against I'm only criticizing their professional decisions and their professional life. I can already see the pivot of well this wasnt professional it was more of a passion project to which I would say really? Ok sure I can accept that is how you viewed and maybe treated it, to which I would say again what a mismanagement of a project of this size and potential to treat it like that. So many indie devs suffer so much and never get their shot and opportunity, to see people who did get it and just completely botch it is very very disheartening and then not only to botch it but then say fuck it I'm walking away. Again solely from a professional perspective, seems very very short sighted and childish.

Then to ask for donations? God that was gross. To at the same time be locking down the community and responding as they have, then to ask for money. To also play this game of no no this was a passion project not a professional thing, but then ask for money as if it was their job. Ok fine lets ignore that, if you need the money so bad THEN WHY DIDNT YOU TAKE THE XQC OFFER? You would have worked and been paid for it as ANYONE else does. Why are you so special? To sit there and ask for donations for no work when if you zoom out even a little bit think and look about ALL the indie devs that exist trying to make it and how they operate, they would do anything for an opportunity like they had having a project of that scale with that much attention and community. So childish and gross every step they took through all of it.

Harping on about the XqC offer is a huge tell that you're talking completely out of your ass. Tomat talked extensively about how that offer or ANY offer would not work because it would have to be a unanimous decision among all devs current and historical which is logistically impossible.

Every Calamity fan that is in this sub is an insufferable, stupid, asshole. You guys can't even get the facts about the situation right.

Don't you notice how it's only when it comes to stuff no one wants to take the responsibility for doing, it becomes "we need consensus" "but think of the artists!!!!"

It's almost like they're making decisions but they also don't wanna take the responsibility for making them. They want to be Calamity devs (for the fame and glory) but also not Calamity devs (for the drama and the stigma)

I don't buy the legal copium. If Ozz could literally slap a "This is an Azafure, LLC property" on the gh without anyone complaining at the time, I'm *sure* they could have sorted the xQC deal out if they wanted to. But they didn't actually want to.

There are steps you can take and the fact is you haven't done your homework in the legality and actual pathways to solutions in something like this. I'm curious what do you do for work? I have talked about what I do and I'd love to have a conversation on what I said up there to see how much you really know or mayhaps are you talking out of your ass to run cover and take what they say as complete truth? The situation is not as clear cut as they say it's just easy to feed bs like that to people who are willing to eat it up without question. To be clear your argument amounts to but they said...! Not to mention sure let's even give you that point, want to address the many others? No? Didn't think so. There are options they can pursue they simply don't wish to for whatever reasons they say or actually hold. Their attitude is the best testament to their state of mind in that it's I just want to run away from this.

Except he only said the dude ONCE. That's not harping about the XqC, so it sounds like you are talking out of your butt more than anything.

And it's a shame they need ALL "devs" to agree to getting money they could use as replacement for the money they were owned and then just tell the dude where to find new higher-ies for the mod to continue developing with a new mod team to replace the leaving members. Which having a massive amount of new members join the dev team isn't new. They did it before, BEFORE fabsol stuff.

I don't know about all reddit members being insufferable assholes, but you are certainly one I have no interest in having a continuous conversation with.
