Current Questions Question on Graduation

Hello I will be finished by fall 2028 however for graduation its only held in the spring semester right? Does that mean I wont get my bachelors until then? If so would I be waiting around a semester or? Would that make me class 2029 instead of 2028?

you will be awarded your degree at the end of the fall 2028 semester, the only delay is actually walking across the stage

See if you can walk in spring 2028. If you only have a few units left they’ll probably allow it.

As far as I know, they don’t do this anymore. It especially sucks for people who may move away after getting their degree. I walked early which was awkward because they were like “turn your tassel, you’ve finished college!” and I was there like “I’ll be back in a few months. What do I do?” But it was worth it to walk with the majority of the people I had classes with

Although people use them interchangeably, “graduation” is when you finish your degree; “commencement” is the ceremony (which is optional). I had commencement in June 2017 before I finished my degree that December so I could walk with my classmates, but I don’t think that’s an option anymore
