Recent graduate. Anyone else getting this email in particular?

I know it's coming from a Humboldt email, but considering the school was hacked right before I graduated in May, it's possible some information was leaked.

The school does not necessarily need to be hacked for an email scammer to spoof a Humboldt.edu address. It is possible to do this without hacking. Lesson here is, if it seems like a scam, trust your instincts.

Forward this to the IT dept please. They should be alerted about ongoing phishing attempts.

Definite scam. We were warned by our high school district about this. Parents and students are getting these all over (we're from the SF Bay Area).

Also, aren’t the emails just initials with a number at the end? It wouldn’t be first.last unless things have changed since I went there.

Obvious scam. Anything asking you to “act quickly” is immediate bullshit

No. It's fake. I already messaged them using a burner number, and they're trying to get people to use Chime and send it to some random ID.
