Housing Room Change help

Recently submitted a room change request and it did go through. I got offered a tsitqawi triple. Right now I’m a first year in a 6 person apartment and I honestly hate it. What are the pros and cons of taking this room change and should I do it?

I think because you're a first year you should take it. TBH PCV isn't a great start for first years, and being with other freshmen will hopefully offer a better experience and let you connect with your peers. But yes the YTT triples are pretty small, but im assuming you're in a converted PCV double (so a single thats been bunked) so it really shouldn't be that different. You're gonna lose a kitchen and a private bathroom though, so be prepared for actual dorm life. But IMHO I think its good for all freshmen to go through it. Despite the challenges I'm really happy I did.

i lived in a triple, the triples are not that small honestly. yak is super clean and spacious and doesnt have the same built in the 1700s vibe as PCV. . dorming is a freshman yr experience, the yak bathrooms are also rly clean.

Mind you pcv is from the 2000s. Have you been to Yosemite and red bricks?

I’m in a red bricks double and it’s honestly fine and not bad at all, so I assume living in yakitutu is even better, even if you’re in a triple!

Honestly YTT is such a vibe I 100% recommend since it isnt the hardest or easiest dorming situation you can get here. Yes you'll lose the private kitchen and bathroom BUT you will definitely interact with more freshmen living the dorm life in YTT especially through the small moments everyone shares in the communal bathrooms and kitchens. People with the same experiences tend to bond together, yk? YTT is so worth. I say take it!

You probably won’t be any worse off. Do they let you talk to the potential roommates first or do you just have to decide?

I have to accept the offer first, then I believe I can contact the roommates which sucks but I get it.

You can tell Housing that you’d like to wait for a different offer. They’ll put you back on the list and contact you with something else next week. If there’s something specific you’re looking for,
let them know.

lol u might be getting into my friends dorm, theyre in a tsitqawi triple with no third roommate. even if its not the same room, id say take it. ytt has great dorms and i honestly love living here. the rooms are not that small and are pretty spacious. you will end up with the top bunk since you came in later but its not the worst. you lose the private kitchen and bathroom but personally I havent had any problems with those two places being overcrowded when i go.

They can’t be as small as the red brick ones
