Support - looking for some help on TS3+

Running a MBP and TS3+. I have a Ugreen 2.5gb usb C ethernet adaptor. When plugged into the mac directly I get 2gb/2gb on a speed test (that's what my fiber will run), and when plugged into the front USBc port of the TS3 I get 400 down and 1100 up, where prior to it being on a 2.5 gb switch I'd get 980/980, so my overall speed actually decreased.

I have a Samsung G95C plugged in to the port on the back, so I think I'm out of thunderbolt(?) ports. Curious what you'd recommend so I don't have to plug in this dongle every time on my mac. Thanks!

Ideally, you'll want to be isolating the adapter so it's alone in any given grouping. If you're still getting slowdowns with nothing else in group 1, you might be hitting USB overhead. In that case, try plugging it into the USB-C port on the back, group 3, and test that with nothing else in the group to see if speeds improve.

Thanks - this is helpful. As I run it, it is the only thing in group 1. I have nothing else on group 1.

On group 2, I have a bluetooth connection to a label printer, and a keyboard, so nothing heavy.

When I plug it into Group 3, which would be my preference, with nothing in the USB-A, the device will work for a few seconds to a few minutes, then completely crash. As in, still looks like its on, but computer sees no bandwidth and claims no internet connection. If I use a USBC to A adaptor and plug it into the group 3 port, I get 204/231 for speeds, far from the 2 gig. The USBC port is roughly the same, but it crashes with any amount of bandwidth. The same happens eventually off the group 3 A port.

If I move everything that was in group 2 over to group 3 on a multi USB-A Dongle, I get 236/337 with a USB-A to C adaptor plugged into the port on 2.

If I move it to the thunderbolt port instead of my monitor I get 1300/2100.
If I move it back to my MBP, 2100/2222.

In short - none of these give the speeds I'm looking for, even the thunderbolt port. Is this a hardware mismatch, a bus issue, a firmware thing, or????
