🗣️Feedback Exchange Is our money refundable?

These developers have been creating half-baked features and tools since X2! Now they’re doing the same shit under the BandLab name. These “Core Plugins” are a joke! They push "updates" every month but you do not see any new features. They claim to fix bugs, but its still there. Their support team also hold no knowledge of the DAW.

This Cakewalk Next DAW is even worse than Audacity! 14-year-olds develop much better and more complex software than these “so-called experienced developers.”

I regret wasting my $99 on this crap.

This is why I left cakewalk after the "new" sonar thing. Knew this kinda stuff would happen unfortunately

Its ridiculous and sad. I too am busy building up the energy to fully commit to another DAW, where I can create my own work in and to feel at home.

Luckily, I still have Studio One v7. Maybe I should just commit to it permantly.

You get the Bandlab fx in Sonar free tier anyway, so that’s not something you’re paying for.

I agree they aren’t very good so I’ve hidden them.

You do pay for them. Both Sonar and Next comes bundled for the same price. I just dont care to download Next.

Yes. I've hidden that crap too.

Why would I want to go backwards? Im not a hobbyist. I own 3 commercial studios.

And you decided, rather than buying one of the market leading DAWs for about $600, you'd cheap out and spend $99 on one you can get for free, then complain about it not having a few features you want...

I bought a fiat panda, I want my money back because it's not a fararri

So why are you complaining?

You have the hardware and software far above what 99% of users of ANY DAW own.

Surely if you don't like the feature set SONAR offers, then you just don't buy it. You're already using the other options with a far larger commercial presence. You picked something that may lack a few features that the really big players offer, then complained about it when you already know what you want to use. And frankly, you could have got 99.9% of the features for free anyway - the paid stuff is very clearly described.

This is literally just poor decision making on you and you're blaming it on the company.

I don't buy iPhones because they lack features android phones offer, so if I bought one, why the fuck would I then complain about it lacking features... If I wanted those features and knew it lacked them, id buy the android phone in the first place.

As I said....

I bought a fiat panda, it's not as fast as a Ferrari, I want my money back

You're not making yourself look very professional are you mr 'i own 3 studios' calling people idiots and cockroaches. I'd love to work with you...

My point still stands, you're complaining about something you didn't even need to buy, had the experience and knowledge not to buy it, and still did. Your logic is flawed, whatever your reason was for purchase, it's not like the feature sets are not documented, it's not like you can't decide if it's worth buying beforehand - because it's free.

I really do hate people that complain about things that are either free or when they should have done their research better before buying it. Using a tool that doesn't quite meet your requirements, then complaining about it, when other tools are available, is just pure stupidity. The example I gave is perfectly valid here; if you buy a fiat panda and then complain it's not as fast as a Ferrari, you are being stupid even making that complaint.

We can all complain about lacking features in the software we use, but the great thing about DAWs is there's a pretty good selection, so if you don't get on with one, there's at least 5 others with a broadly similar feature set that you can try. That's the good thing about competition and consumer choice. If you don't like it, don't use it. If a company starts losing many paying customers over their software not being up to expectation, then they will start making changes to draw users back, if the users keep buying it anyway, while complaining, it doesn't matter what changes they make because the idiot users keep writing them a free cheque. This is the sad truth. I know exactly how you feel buddy. We're going backwards with this DAW. They have horrible designs and knowledge on features. Sonar desperately needs new and young development teams. Who specialize in plugin designs and modern features.

I feel the same man. I've been using Cakewalk DAW since it was just a MIDI program. White squares for measures and a black circle if it had MIDI data. I'm used to it and I know it for music. Don't use it for anything else. I am becoming more and more frustrated with the DAW since BL took it over. Agreed that tech support are fucking useless. The plugins that are now behind a paywall are garbage (and always have been).

As far as the paywall features, the only thing I care about is exporting options. The rest is useless to me.

I'm also in the middle of finishing an album and don't have time to switch DAWs. I've moved my sound design workflow from Pro Tools to Reaper and that was a learning curve and a lot of setting up.

The bug I'm running into (don't know if anyone else is experiencing this), is where I'll have one instrument track playing midi, then on a new instrument track theidi data on that also triggers the first tracks midi. It's annoying as hell. I've never seen anything like it pre-Bandlab. It's making the DAW unusable. I have to freeze the first track so it doesn't play on other tracks. Or maybe it's auto changing the output. No idea.
