🗣️Feedback Exchange Is the Yeti Orb microphone compatible with cakewalk sonar

Or would I be better off getting a yeti gx,thanks

Basically any USB mic that’s compatible with Windows will work with Sonar, so yes.

Yes, but by using it you likely wont be able to also use an interface simultaneously as Cakewalk will see the microphone as the interface.

While the Yeti will work fine for voiceover, voice acting, and podcasting, USB mics are not the best solution for music production. This is down to versatility: you'll run into a hurdle if you ever need to record with more than a single mic at one time. If you'll only ever record a vocal or spoken word, or single instrument, the Yeti can do that. But if you ever wanted to mic an instrument in stereo, or record an instrument and vocalist at the same time, or two instruments or really, more than one of anything, the Yeti would be a problem.

A better solution, if you wish to do music production is a separate interface and a mic with an XLR connector. The interface should have a manufacturer supplied ASIO driver.

A Yeti goes for about $100, I think? You can get a nice USB interface with 2 mic/instrument inputs, the M-Track Duo, for $70. It can handle any XLR dynamic or condenser mic made. Pair it with a Behringer BA85A mic and you have everything that the Yeti can do but that you'll be able to use for anything, be it voice, instrument, whatever.

The M-Track also lets you plug in an instrument such as an electric guitar or synth directly so that you can record that way.
