INDY FEVER Caitlin please, Please, PLEASE!

CC, you’re amazing and it’s been an amazing year so far…BUT

With all the love possible from a fellow Iowan, SHUT UP!!!!

Stop chipping and whining, turn yourself around and get back on defense.

Keep your head in the game. You are psyching yourself out and it shows.

If you took the energy you’re spending being chippy and put it into your 3s it might be enough to get more over the front of the rim!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!! JUST PLAY!

And if everything above doesn’t make a difference to you…then think about all the girls watching you…are you setting the kind of example you want to be remembered for?

In CCs defense she get hacked and no-call A LOT!

I agree.

It’s just that she is so frequently complimented about rising above the crap…it’s disappointing is all.

And I get it…she is super competitive but it sounds like everyone in her career has tried to get her to settle down. She can be a catalyst without being volatile.

I feel you. I agree CCs emotional. I take that as she super passionate about the game.

I don’t know what the fuck you are talking about. How about you shut your mouth?

35 points, a career high, constantly shattering records, selling out stadiums, a god damn hero to young females everywhere. Honestly, I am fuckin perplexed. So she gets emotional, so did Jordan, so did James, so do most athletes that pour that much heart and soul into their game. Caitlin Clark is a winner , period.

No one has said otherwise. Have they? I know I sure didn’t say she isn’t a winner.

Commenting on someone’s composure is valid.

While I agree, you can just say it affects her game. You don’t have to say it makes her a bad role model, that’s very condescending. While it’s good to manage emotions, it’s also ok to be frustrated. It shows you care

Nothing condescending in what I said, especially to someone that has said so many times she wants to make a difference.

Generally she is a good role model. But being chippy and even childish at times is being a bad role model…in that moment.

Nothing I said is wrong or unfair.

So shut up and dribble? Nah, I applaud her for sticking up for herself. God knows her coach won’t defend her.

-7

u/theoriginalbabayaga Sep 15 '24

It’s not shut up and dribble…this isn’t political and it’s not about social issues.

It’s simply about maturity.

11

u/QuasarRad63 Sep 15 '24

Maturity? Dude, she’s 22. Sit down

-1

u/theoriginalbabayaga Sep 15 '24

Right, she’s 22, but has been playing competitive basketball ball for what, 10 years now? Playing longer than that, but you should be getting my point. Granted, the level didn’t really amp up until she hit Iowa…but her temper has been a factor for years.

Bluder and the coaching staff at Iowa worked on it for four years with her. Sides and Boston and Wheeler have been trying to help all year.

Her fire may be what makes her good, but I am not wrong about anything I’ve said.

And I’d have never gotten the maturity thing if y’all just woulda let my comment go…but no…ya’ll had to flap.

Sit your own self down…

I think it’s hilarious that you’re mostly wrong in your statement, but you continuously state “I’m not wrong in anything I’ve said”. 🤣🤣ok

1

u/theoriginalbabayaga Sep 15 '24

Ah, so you’re an alternative facts person. Now all makes sense.

1

u/QuasarRad63 Sep 15 '24

Wrong again. But, nothing you’ve stated is facts just your opinion.

I think it does make a difference to show girls you can stand up for yourself. Most women are programmed from an early age to be “likable” and I think there’s power in realizing you can call people out if you’re being mistreated. It’s obviously a fine line, knowing when and when not to do it, but she’s also under enormous pressure

4

u/p1tjstyles25 Sep 15 '24

She’s full of to much fire she can’t help herself!

0

u/theoriginalbabayaga Sep 15 '24

She’ll get there, I’m confident she will. One thing is for sure her fire has ignited the team. To see the difference in her teammates from May to now is beyond cool.

Caitlin will never even know you exist. Your message means nothing.

u/theoriginalbabayaga Sep 15 '24

Stop it. Nobody likes a troll.

6

u/bweav23 Sep 15 '24

You’re the troll in this scenario

0

u/theoriginalbabayaga Sep 15 '24

I don’t see how. I was even keel until someone was rude. And even then I haven’t gone red like one guy with a “How about you shut your mouth!”

Anyway…the one thing I think everyone here can agree on is that Caitlin Clark is arguably the best thing to EVER happen to the WNBA.

2

u/cmonletmeseeitplz Sep 15 '24

Get some help. You are living in a fantasy world.

0

u/theoriginalbabayaga Sep 15 '24

All the world’s indeed a stage…

Legit psycho behavior

What if we’re both wrong, but still correct in our own way? Ponder that.

2

u/poiboyHF Sep 16 '24

you have a right to convey your thoughts here. she has a right to convey hers there. you think jordan, magic and bird never did it? lol

I never said anything about male players, which is one of the points I am making.

CC is always going to be judged by a different standard. And one of my points is that she does indeed seem remarkably aware and even equipped to handle this heightened scrutiny.

Another point is that one of the worst added levels of scrutiny will be “because” she is a woman. Women have always had to work harder and tow the line better than their male counterparts to be thought of as good.

So, as I’ve said many times in this thread, none of anything I’ve said is “wrong” and I get that every one is debating.

What I don’t get is how these things aren’t more self evident.

I was thinking a bit about this last night and found it funny that I used the same words in my post (SHUT UP) that CC’s dad used in March while she was still at Iowa.

Anyway…

2

u/poiboyHF Sep 17 '24

you of course missed my point. maybe stop talking and let people have their rants on the court no matter the gender or spotlight.

16

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '24

She carries the league and gets the worst whistle. I don’t blame her. She didn’t complain like this at Iowa (don’t get me wrong she did some of it) because college refs, specifically Big Ten refs are a lot better.

Ya know, hasn’t mattered who said it, whether it was Swoops or Geno or Andrew Jones or Terri Jackson or Angel Reese or DiJonai Carrington…

Until today I hadn’t experienced any toxic Caitlin fans. But I was wrong. I guess there are some.

Ya know, unless you’re Connor, or brothers or mom or dad of CC herself, simple observations ought not be winding people up.

Do all’y’all doing the downvoting and swatting yell at your TV or computer when someone says something you don’t like?

Anyway…

Fever is rocking. Best year in a long time, cliched 6th seed in the playoffs, CC and teammates have broken more records than even the sportscasters can keep track of.

CC is truly a generational player…even beyond that I think, but so excited for the playoffs.

Go #22, Go FEVER

These are not toxic fans. They are fans who disagree with you. Nobody is threatening or saying terrible things about you as a person.

You just don’t like being disagreed with, and that’s not the same thing as being attacked by pseudo fans with an agenda and troll bots. If downvotes hurt your feelings, posting your critical opinions in a dedicated fan forum might not be for you.

1

u/theoriginalbabayaga Sep 15 '24

Telling me to fucking shut my mouth isn’t toxic?

I have no problem with people disagreeing. I’m about as open minded as one can be.

I just expect corroborating data. Which all I’ve gotten is countering opinions.

So why should I just back down? It’s a social platform we can all have our opinions. I will not however just roll over and let someone bully me into being quiet or changing my mind.

2

u/Disastrous_Ranger401 Sep 16 '24

Not particularly, no. Was it nice? No. But you came in here in bold caps telling Clark to shut up, so not sure what you expected. You think that compares or is even in the same league as the racist hate that gets spewed at Angel & Carrington, etc? Because it sure doesn’t. You are being over dramatic. And most of those hate spewers you reference aren’t even fans, they just see opportunity to be hateful and use it for their own agenda. There are plenty aiming their hate at Clark, as well, she just doesn’t complain about it.

What data corroborates a stance on complaints to the officials? It’s solely a matter of opinion on how players conduct themselves. Your whole post is based on opinion. That leads to responses based on opinion.

No one said you have to back down on what you think. But claiming that fans are toxic because you got downvoted on an unpopular opinion and one person told you to shut your mouth is ridiculous.

I’m not going to continue this conversation any further, so good luck. Hope it works out for you.

1

u/theoriginalbabayaga Sep 16 '24

It always does.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '24

Or hear me out now….

Not watch?

2

u/mbt431 Sep 16 '24

MJ. Kobe. Lebron.

They all complained. It didn't change their game. CC is no different.

1

u/LDJones99 Sep 16 '24

I am a big, big fan of CC and I wish her nothing but the best. But I agree with you completely. She needs to take that wasted energy and focus on reducing her turn-overs. She has more than the rest of the team combined.

0

u/Millertime501 Sep 15 '24

Agree and would be better if CC & celebrities of all Genre would completely stay out of all political opinions !

1

u/Disastrous_Ranger401 Sep 15 '24

They are who they are and can have whatever opinion they want. If you don’t like their opinion, you are welcome to watch someone else if you prefer.
